But that would delay The Churs plans for Championship football in the new stadium for season 2018/2019.

Its seems that the ground can only be developed for sports and nothing else plus the woodland at the manchester Road end is protected.....
So the chaur is knackered if he wants to sell to developers...

Simply cannot happen. Gigg Lane is listed as a community asset, whilst also being on land that can only be used for sports and leisure. So it's doubly protected on that front.
