I'm sure many on here will be sad to hear Cloughie/couponman has recently had a fall and a funny turn. He's stable in hospital though and is in decent spirits.

I had to laugh when two nurses were trying to get him upright in bed and he said "it be fooking easier to lift Dale up the table than me up this bed!"

Anyway, short visits really help him, so if anyone who knows him has half an hour to spare, drop me a PM and I'll let you know which hospital/ward he's on

In his own unique way earlier today he told me "and next week will off as well if it rains between now and then!" Despite having a stroke and struggling to see, he still knew the pitch was crap :)

Good old Cloughie!

Get well soon Cloughie LEGEND

He is a legend. Littleborough folk will remember him as the bloke on the bike collecting.

He collected in excess of £250,000 for our club in Goldbond, scratch cards and draw tickets during the 1990's and 2000's.

This has to be a football record.

I remember him being crowned superfan - a title that befits what he has done for the club. Has he now retired from Goldbond?

Good luck to the fella - and hope he gets well enough to see his beloved Dale soon - wherever we may play :)

He was my maths teacher. Can't remember if it was at Durnford or Queggs, but saw an old photo of him on the internet recently doing work on the Sandy Lane stand in the eighties. I heard he had died.

He's on about Brian Clough in reply to the Brian Clough question.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

If I can just add. The Chairman's wife was there tonight tending to Cloughie.

To those who scorn team Rochdale, Cloughie would tell you! The nurses tuned his radio in for him.

He celebrated Hendos goal so much he set his emergency buzzer off. As the nurses rushed to his aid he shouted "fooking Dale are beating spurs."

Our superfan is a hero
