"his professional integrity dragged through the mud"

Oh stop it.

No-one is having a go at his integrity. They might have a go at your sanity.

You'll have to do a damn sight better than the long list of trolls who've tried over the years!

And yes, you, sweetcorn, ranger and JR are maligning Davies' integrity in making out that he's failing to do his best to maintain as much fitness as he possibly can

What else would you call it?

I'm calling you out on this Parka. Either get in touch with Davies and find out what the facts are - or give it a rest

I'm neither a fool, or ridiculous, in defending Davies from cheap attacks

Didn't take long to wear you out though, did it?

Two bloody minutes

Jesus Christ.

I'll start again then. How is it I support a football club that might expect its paid players to turn out now and again and you seem to wanna treat the lad as a special case?

To even spend 5 minutes on a football pitch at L1 level you have to be physically fit, so there's no question that he's not

Look at the run he made to get on the end of the chance against Spurs, after laying the ball off to Done. That takes basic physical fitness. I don't care if you think he was "blowing" last night, your opinion counts for little when you go out of your way to try to make cheap jokes and innuendo about his eating habits

He simply doesn't deserve the rubbish you and ranger throw at him

And if that makes me pernicious, either male, female or any alternative, bring it on

[Post edited 14 Mar 2018 14:21]

I would expect any professional footballer to make a run as Davies did, especially when you consider he'd only been on 15 minutes!

So would I, but I'm not the one making accusations against him

So easy to do on here, so cheap

I think it's known as "trolling" but it's even worse than that since Davies isn't being given the chance to defend himself, and the accusers think it's ridiculous for others to try

This is a forum, not someone's personal account. No-one is 'trolling'.

'Trolling' I suppose might include contacting players and staff directly with questions, theories, daft stuff etc. that a forum is truly the place for.

So anytime we've got a beef or annoyance with a player or how the team is performing we're to ring the club up and to ask to speak directly to the manager or said player? What a blindingly stupid unrealistic thing to come out with.

Hypothetical, I know, but I'm wondering if this conversation would be happening at all if Calvin wasn't injured.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Fair point TVOS,

I thought the debate started though when people started comparing Davies to Humphreys looks to be more athletic. Having said that, the latter is 10 years younger.

Yes, but I was just wondering if Davies would have even been making the bench had Calvin been available.

I've no idea, it's just speculation.

We've had two injury prone players in two seasons who both appear to be less than 100% fit. I can only assume that it a strategy from Hilly (and I'm only speculating from no specialist knowledge at all) whereby they have a different fitness regime from the others to try and offset the injuries. He's not one to suffer fools easily and if a player wasn't meeting the same fitness standards as the others through their own doing, they wouldn't be within a million miles of the first team squad.

Speculation is everything wonderful about this forum. (Don't wanna open the CA injury question - we'd be here forever.)

I think Davies is a 'natural', he's gifted, and Hill allows for that and understandably so. What else you gonna do?

While I'd like to agree with all of that Col a certain former keeper blows that theory out of the water with regard to "fitness" levels.

It would be good if someone could post a picture of Logan today to compare when he was at Dale as you said that would be telling and maybe put fresh perspective as to whether a big lad like Davies can trim down.

This is not the time for bickering.
