Who appoints the refs these days? I can`t get my head around them appointing a bloke from Leicestershire for a game between two Lancashire clubs,when that bloke who reffed us at Wembley is just down the road in Wigan. With the weather as it is,the Leicestershire ref might not be able to get to Rochdale,but even if he does,what`s the point if the conditions are so bad the game will be called off anyway. |  | | |  |

I think Merkels open door policy will bite Germany and the rest of the EU on the arse in the short term and the long term and will harm Germany’s welfare state as well as the fact that migrants from Muslim nations bring in cultural differences which cannot be bridged and are totally alien to European liberal values.

The policy is to appoint the same referee as the original fixture unless he’s unavailable.
The same organisation (PGMOL) appoints officials for all matches regardless of the competition.
Leicestershire is hardly the other side of the world.
