Hope we don't see this referee for a long long time. Out of control and very much favouring Bradford all game. 5 yellow cards to Dale? Ridiculous. And can somebody please tell me how waiting for a substitution to take is timewasting that warrants a yellow card??? Yates is unfit for purpose and hopefully he gets a damning report from the assessor. Rubbish.

While today’s card for timewasting may be up for debate, Lillis has been doing it in previous games so we can’t complain much.

Apparently it’s other clubs who use such tactics though

I’m not usually one to criticise referees but today’s was dreadful if not outright biased. The Lillis yellow was comical and how the challenge on Humphrys just before his own yellow card was given as a free kick to Bradford is inexplicable.

The yellow to Lillis was because he tried to take an indirect free kick for the double kick from the Bradford player who took the free kick, after being told to take a goal kick hence the ref giving a yellow for time wasting, thought he did ok on the whole

Lillis was correctly booked for timewasting

Every booking was deserved. I repeat, the ref got very little wrong

Why would a referee from Staffordshire be biased against Dale?

In fact, it's embarrassing when the crowd start chanting "Cheat" as it implies deliberate decisions in the opposition's favour.

Then again, when some sat behind me wanted Bradford's keeper booked for time-wasting when they were losing, nothing should surprise me anymore!

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Note to those with the ability to click a thumbs down but give nothing by way of explanation as to why you're unable to cope with the disappointment of not winning so take it out on the ref who had a perfectly good game - grow up

I didn't think he had a good game, he missed a lot of fouls, he booked Lillis wrongly . He didn't play advantages very well. That ok for you

I have no idea, and I highly doubt he went into that game with the intention of favouring Bradford but that’s how it ended up appearing. The examples I listed are just two of numerous galling decisions he made.

He was making decisions that were utterly inconsistent throughout. Hence fans wondering why Bradford's keeper could take as long as he wanted and Lillis couldn't. Humphrys booked for daring to slip and hurt himself on a watered surface?
Blowing up when Bradford's Warnock decided he wanted a lie down (he sustained no injury) as Dale were attacking does nothing but indicate inconsistency and bias. Is that a new ruke or is it 'Yates Law?' Worst I've seen this season by a long way and an opinion echoed by many stood near me.

Bradford's keeper wasn't gaining anything by taking his time as his team was losing!

Ours was eating up seconds to protect a lead.

So, Bradford's keeper can waste time but not get a yellow card as ours did? Is this a new rule?

For me, other refs have allowed the game to flow better recently. Few times he blew the whistle and missed advantages. Seemed to get more flustered as the game went on.

No, he missed the usual number of things refs tend to miss, and it worked out evenly for both sides

If we hadn't conceded late on his performance would barely be mentioned

Was he wasting it to the detriment of the opposition as Lillis has lots in recent matches? If so, then the ref may have been wrong. Honestly can’t remember him taking a long time over anything!

Can't believe people are complaining about Lillis' yellow card.

From what I saw...

The linesman gives a goal kick, Lillis sees this.

He threw the ball down 10 yards or so from the 6 yard line whilst the sub was being made.

He then waited about 10 seconds after the sub was made to throw the ball back to the 6 yard box for the goal kick and took this time to get back to take the goal kick.

He knew it was a GK and manufactured a 30 second wait between the sub and taking it.

That's time wasting, simple as.
