Aaron Wilbraham joins Dale.......
Cracking signing on paper, experienced and can chip in with goals. Credit where it's due it certainly seems Hilly and the board are making a real go of things for next season, some superb signings so far...

His debut league goal appears to have been for Stockport C. on 4 April 1998: Man City 4 County 1. (It's unlikely that fixture will occur again in the next 20 years.)

I was at that game. Shaun Goater’s first goal for City (ended up becoming a sky blue legend), ex Dalee Richard Jobson scored for City and Lee Badbuy scored two of his very few goals for City, before eventually becoming a right back for then lower league Bournemouth. City got relegated to now League 1 at the end of that season and County and Bury stayed up. Wonder what Pep would make of that.
Good to see Aaron Wilbraham fixed up at @officiallydale. They had asked to sign him on loan in January but he wanted to stay and fight for his place at #BWFC. Thank buggery he did... 😀

It's a funny old game. Had he joined in January, he'd never have scored 'that' goal, and Joe Thompson might not have scored 'that goal' for Dale if AW had played instead.

Have we now changed our recruitment policy, I thought our days of signing 35+ players having a final contract were over, that said he may do a job for us

We were short on leaders last season. Too many games were lost or drawn because of a lack of game management. The signing of Perkins and Wilbraham addresses that concern I think. The guy was playing Championship football at 38 years old, he's obviously as fit as a fiddle. Kind of reminds me a little of when we signed Tony Ellis.
If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor

Two of our younger players going to be in the bench to accommodate them, our main problem last season was lack of goals

What's to guarentee our "younger players" will score us enough goals either, who do you suggest we should play instead then?
I'd rather have a proven championship player than trying to blood some youngsters after last seasons mess, and its obvious Hilly seems to think similar.
