Interesting report on football spending. 09:47 - Aug 14 with 1567 viewsdingdangblue

Surprised to see Scunthorpe so high overspending - although the season involved saw them top most of the season before they faded to 3rd behind Sheffield United and Bolton (who for some reason are allowed to spend 150% of their turnover on wages)???

I believe Scunny were spending big to anticipate a move to a new stadium that they obviously had earmarked for Championship football.

Ridiculous that Bolton's 150% spending came in a season when they were under an embargo. I know much of that was down to being relegated the year before, but I reckon they were probably overspending by an amount double our entire wage bill.
