Loan players 10:49 - Aug 17 with 1676 viewsrochdaleriddler

Interesting article in the Times today. League one and two clubs complaining about the fees demanded by premier league clubs to take their players. Also clubs fining teams unless they play their loanees . It says Liverpool insist on their players play at least 75% of games. It says fines can run into hundreds of thousands

Probably agree really,as if i was a manager of a lower league team id not take a loanee unless i was playing him, waste of a loan fee.

Premiership clubs having their cake and eating it yet again.
They need somewhere for members of their bloated squads to play yet the under 23 competition is noticeably sanitised compared to "men's football" in the EFL.

Disgrace that they charge for loaning players out, The league clubs need to work together to adopt a joint approach to this. It benefits players and the host clubs most I would say

Just to put a different spin on it... If the contract is agreed at the start of the loan, what's the problem? Clubs loan players out to get match experience, there's little point training all year with lower league facilities just to be a backup player somewhere. If this cuts down on the loan market then good! Clubs will have to release players earlier if they cannot get loaned anywhere, and we can get them on permanent deals sooner.

Far too long the loan market has been used by lower league clubs to get a cheap squad and gain promotions which they can't sustain the year after.

Yes.

They lost.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?
