I believe that it is 50 years on Monday since he joined the club as trainer/coach.
Served the club loyally for over four years through some of some of it's most successful footballing times.
Results certainly picked up after his arrival which led to promotion although how much of that is exactly down to him is unknown.
Later became a popular landlord of the Carters Rest on Spotland Road, famed for his Monday afternoon lock-ins where he used to love recounting his football anecdotes.
