They were still there on Saturday, albeit behind a wire fence.

I have no opinion on this one, sorry. Apart from four games playing for Aberdeen, none of which I saw, I know nowt about this fellow other than his Oldham spell. It figures Oram Kearney would know of McLaughlin due to the Northern Irish connection. Other than what appeared in the media about him “turning his car around” when he heard of our interest, that’s all I know.

Have the board allowed Hill to spend the money from the sale of Cannon perhaps or could it be we are going to see another player leaving to fund one coming in ?

As for where he’ll play, I’m leaning towards sweetcorn’s theory that Raff will continue at LB now.

I doubt we paid more than £10-20k for him. Anyone thinking this guy is a left back, forget it, he's right footed and has a weak left foot. Hill will probably use him as cover for right back or defensive midfield role. Wish I could be more optimistic, sorry. Sluggish and not great, played right midfield mostly last year for Oldham. Around this time last year he was subbed off against Plymouth at Boundary Park. Still frustrated we do not have a left back and striker yet. [p.s. my missus the BIFFO not me, got dragged along to watch them]

I played football for a team in paisley for a while back in 1989/90. Can’t remember the name of the pub we used to go in but I was scared to speak with my accent. Rough hole alright although perhaps it’s been developed since then

The town centre has undergone considerable modernisation but the outlying areas ain’t pretty. Ferguslie Park is one of the dodgiest areas I’ve ever had to traverse, and I include Tangier and Falinge in that.

Two years ago i’d have been gutted, now not so much. He’s been a good servant to the club, but i’d take the money now, doesnt have the same spark he had 2 year ago for us.

My thoughts exactly. On the arsedometer, I’d rate this about a 5. I do wish him the very best though if he does go. Like you said, he’s served us well.

Here's an idea, why not sell them Rafferty when the McLoughlin deal is done, then as well as money for Rafferty, we also get Tommy Spurr their left back on a free, who was on loan to Fleetwood. Bish bash bosh, money in the bank as well as a new left back .... simples ?

Depends if he's over his injury. I'm not sure we should be signing another left back who is unable to play to a reasonable standard, albeit this one due to injury... https://www.lep.co.uk/sport/football/preston-north-end/why-preston-north-end-def
