With a couple of the teams below us due to play each other still, I have a feeling that it may be already impossible for seven teams to pass us and that we are actually already mathematically safe. Can anyone work it out?!

I've had a quick go on a predictor. If we lose both our remaining matches and all the teams below us win their games (Scunny beating Plymouth 0-2 on the last day) we can still get relegated. It'll need some unlikely results, but it can still go against us. As far as I can tell.

Us getting relegated now is about as likely as bURY avoiding administration. I hope they go up now as it will be a team starting 12 points behind us from word go, assuming they still exist!!

Shows the optimistic/ pessimistic amongst us! I still think 250/1 is great odds for us to go down, certainly haven’t cracked open any celebratory beers just yet.

On a more positive note, it's still mathematically possible for us to finish in the top half!

But only if Joey Barton tw@ts his players in training and they go down to two 15-0 defeats

In fairness, whatever we do, we will not have been as brutally fcuked from behind as bURY have been by day. Milky bars on on the taxpayer!!!

I'm with Judd on this one, there needs to be no further tweaking of said FG nipples.
Other than Bradford and Walsall can't catch us the only thing that is certain is one of Plymouth and Scunthorpe cannot catch us.

This is gives an idea of what would need to happen to send us down if we lost both....
Bristol - Just need 1 point from 2
Shrews - Just need 1 point from 2
Wycombe - Could lose to Wimbledon and just need a point against Fleetwood
Accrington - Could lose to Plymouth and just need 1 win from 2
Southend - Have to beat Dale, but then get a point at Sunderland
Plymouth - Need 4 points from Accrington and Scunthorpe
Scunthorpe - Need to win both Bradford & Plymouth
Wimbledon - Can lose at Luton then win Wycombe & Bradford
(There are others)

Most of the above seem plausible, Southend getting a point at Sunderland seems the unlikely one but might depend whether they are in with a shout of auto P, the 250-1 seems a good offer.

Both the above CANNOT happen.

we are as good as safe there are way to many variables for us to be relegated.

I would go as far to say we could lose on Saturday and probably be mathematically safe by 5pm Saturday afternoon.

What an Easter.

2 wins - 6 points - 2 x clean sheets - whoooo hoooo.

Thats why I said "the only thing that is certain is one of Plymouth and Scunthorpe cannot catch us" ....because both of the criteria for them to pass us cannot happen.

For us to be safe next sat at 5pm (assuming we've lost) there needs to 2 of Plymouth, Scunny or Wimbledon on 47 points or less.

Southend are at home to Sunderland on the last day. Sunderland may be unable to get automatic by then and could rest players for the play offs. The best thing we can do is beat Southend on Saturday and its all over. We could lose on Saturday and might not need a point at Charlton. Just praying things go our way and we dont need a point at Charlton. Its certainly more in our hands than last season! Wimbledon and Accrington both losing tonight would be helpful.

Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10
