Hoping we get an away at Stockport. Be nice to be able to walk to a game.
Where you at Ancoats? I could walk it too (border of Bredbury/Romiley) but would probably drive if that fixture came up. It would be my nearest ground though.

I’m not as posh as you. According to google maps I’m less than a mile walk to Edgeley Park.

That brings back memories, I used to see a girl who lived there for a good few years, a few trips to the Romiley Arms and Etherow for a nice stroll, not a bad place at all.

That must have been a while ago - Romiley Arms is one of the worst watering holes in Rommers these days. Duke of York still ok but bar staff have served locals preferentially out of turn since I moved here in '95 so I only venture in there once in a blue moon - Platform 1 next to station and opposite Romiley Arms has about 6 hand pumps on the bar and decent tucker (but they have a pie made with pastry and baked on the menu as a rag pudding?!?) and a new micro pub, Jakes Ale house a bit further along is also excellent.
Etherow still in fine form. Did you ever go to Indigo (Indian)? That's a cracking place for a curry.

Yes was a while back, never went for a curry round there, went a couple of times to an old school one just as you get onto the A6 on the way to Hazel Grove that was lovely food, even though it felt like you were sat in someone's front room!!! Etherow was always a decent walk and watching some fine carp feeding on the surface during the decent weather (if my poor memory is correct), have a sister who lives in Glossop still and I go through Romiley sometimes and drop down as a change of route as it's a lovely drive over that side.

Small world …….. following on from the above post, started seeing a lass who lives in Glossop. Off there shortly and will be doing that exact that drive through Charlesworth!
