Cricket WC 20:12 - Jun 12 with 13644 views | Nigeriamark | Big win by the Aussies today. Not yet halfway through but already looking like a 5 horse race with NZ, Oz, India, England & WI's going for the 4 qualifying places. Huge game on Friday between us against the WIs , and with Afghanistan & Sri Lanka up next a win would set us up nicely. Wouldn't like to see us in 4th after 6 games with our last three being India, the Aussies & NZ SA have choked earlier than normal & other than the game against us Pakisan seem to have lost their discipline. SL only have 4 points because of 2 washouts so I don't expect any of these 3 to challenge. Afghanistan & Bangladesh were always unlikely to challenge although the latter are always good for a shock All in all a decent start to the tournament and I for one am happy it has not been the batters tournament as predicted. Let's hope for the weather to clear up & for some close matches over the next 5 weeks
Cricket WC on 21:30 - Jun 12 with 4580 views | D_Alien | I suspect we'll not be in top place after the first stages, and that's probably a good thing. Whoever fills those 4 places will fancy themselves, and it will literally be down to conditions on the day, winning the toss and not bottling it I can remember vividly the first 3 WCs, all played on home soil. Of the premier teams in world cricket, we're the only ones not to have won it and it's something that's putting extra pressure on us, in addition to being pre-tournament favourites

Rain is a pain in the backside when it comes to cricket. It’s done for Lancs again today, too. A measly eight points for that terrific bowling display on Monday. Hopefully England’s game goes ahead and they grab the win. Should be well placed after that.

Looking a bit grim now. Where has all the form gone ? Instead of winning the WC we might end up taking the Choke title from SA. to win 4 of the first 5 and yet be looking over our shoulder at other teams is very poor. Come on NZ tomorrow
Cricket WC on 16:52 - Jun 30 with 3861 views | 100notout | Great game at the moment between England and India. Great score by England but India making a good fist of the chase. Game on!

Cricket WC on 19:12 - Jun 30 with 3738 views | ColDale | been some great games so far. Afghanistan v Pakistan was a belter on Saturday. Afghans through it away when they brought their captain on to bowl when the Pakistani batsmen were getting dazzled by the spin bowlers.

Been a good WC so far. Due to the weather and wearing pitches it hasn’t been the run fest some expected and there have been equally good batting and bowling performances with Starc the pick so far for me. The lower run chases have under up being the exciting ones. Looks like we will finish third or fifth unless Pakistan blow up in their last game. Let’s hope it’s third!!

Apparently, the pitch slowed right down as the ball lost it's hardness 305 a defendable total, let's see if it was bottle lost or whether NZ struggle after the first 25 overs

Good Win and looks like India in the Semi ( Unless SA beat the Aussies which I can't see) NZ didn't really go for it as they were protecting the run rate so Pakistan probably have to win by 300 runs or 9 wickets in about 20 overs!!

The shorter boundaries will certainly benefit the batsmen of both sides. However, to quote Jonathan Liew, I hope we haven’t exhausted the “numerous borrowings against our reserves of good fortune” in this tournament quite yet. I think we will need some more against India this time.

Could be decided by the coin toss. We have won the last two so hopefully our lucky streak will continue

Good to see several of the England lads relaxing at Wimbledon today, i think they've got their mojo back - and they'll need it. Could be we've had our rough patch whilst India & the Aussies are due one

Cricket WC on 10:16 - Jul 7 with 2758 views | mingthemerciless | There was an interesting piece on the radio the other day comparing the coverage of the Cricket World Cup and the Women's Football World Cup. 95% of the Nation doesn't know there's a Cricket World Cup going on, it's like it's being played in secret. I'm a sort of cricket fan and I haven't seen one ball bowled live on TV. More people can recognise the captain of the women's team than they can Eoin Morgan Last week the interest in the Women's games was massive. It must have worked wonders for the profile of their sport. Sell your soul to the devil and it rarely ends well unless you happen to be Robert Johnson. They also mentioned that when Rugby League was on BBC Grandstand they regularly got audiences of around the 1.5 to 2 million mark, now the SKY audiences are about 250k.
