Was Ched diving moaning and time wasting etc Ken or is this just historical stuff.

In no way criticising your post btw just wondered if he was worse than others?

Historical stuff. Not the thread for it tbh. I hope the lad rebuilds his life and his victim does too, but given what is known about his actions, its surprising to me that a company want to he associated with him, regardless of if he was the best player on the pitch. I think there's a thread for this already though.

IMHO he wasn't their best player but was a threat throughout and obv got the winner.

The only relevant thing we need to know about Ched Evans was that he scored the winner

Moaning about him is pretty precious stuff

Ched Evans was on 20k a week at Sheffield United and a Welsh international until he did something stupid and disgusting to most, and was falsely accused of rape, he is a quality footballer at this level and would be even better but for the years he lost in the game due to some lying little publicity seeking tart from Rhyl.

He was stupid and this has been done to death but the girl who lied should be the one getting the criticism, except she can’t as if I put her name on here I would be prosecuted as would anyone else.

If he is a diving cheating time waster that’s fine, have a go at him for that, but he is not lee Hughes!

I am agreeing btw DA

Anybody who was at the game,I noticed that Fleetwood had 15 fouls and Dale 5, Wes the ref a homer ?

No, we just kept giving the ball away and then made rash tackles to try to win it back.

Totally agree, but also think we have too many strikers who are not up to the level required, leaving aside hendo who is out only real goal scorer, we have done, often injured or sub who has lost a yard of pace, pyke who is quick but scores at about the same ratio as Andrew, Andrew who is slow but big and scores at about the same ratio as pyke, alby who is a proven striker but is 40 and has been injured and Gillam who must have porn pictures of someone on a stag do to still be here, as he is turd!

I have ignored youth team players as they deserve no criticism.

In my opinion I would have hendo alby pyke as on loan and look at 1 more striker who is half decent and not constantly injured (clough) I said a few seasons back padrik amond would have done a great job for us, when he went on a free (I think) from Hartlepool, if we are so good with youth players why was Nathan Greenwood not loaned last year or a similar hungry striker from city, Liverpool, Everton etc.

I agree a reduced squad is ok, but not when some are not capable of fulfilling what they are meant to do at a decent standard.

Who's Nathan Greenwood?

As Fitz has posted many times, we tried to sign players in the summer, whether on loan or permanently, but couldn't get the deals done for whatever reasons.

Undoubted knowledge? Or just the application of common sense and using my brain?

Finished 2-1. Very similar to other games. Lots of passing but a lack of shots/attacking threat in the final third. Fleetwood play a similar game and at times lacked a finish but when you have a player of the quality of Evans in your team that is the difference

Sanchez & Jim still playing some risky passes whereas some of the others are punting it when required. Ryan put in a very good shift when he came on and MJ had a very solid game other than 1 poor pass out from the back that put us under pressure. Ollie ran himself ragged & Norrington Davies did well against a tricky winger

Difficult to pick MOM but I will go for MJ

I think Alby is our only option to try and shake it up in our forward play. Hope he starts on Wednesday and gets some minutes under his belt in the next few weeks. If it doesn't work then I think we need to seriously look at the loan market in Jan

Can’t agree about Ryan. I thought he was really poor today. I haven’t really been impressed with him in any games so far, and today he didn’t play a single positive pass. Each one was behind him and pretty slow.

The early season promise has certainly started to fade quite badly

Let's get the Utd game out of the way. Who knows how much of a distraction it's been? And then regroup with at least Alby coming back to provide some desperately-needed savvyness

Agree the reset after the United game Will be welcomed. Not that I am saying the players have been hiding, I am not in a position to comment on that. But players minds will have been on the midweek game.
Now the only game I have seen so far this season is the Southend game, so at this stage I am probably more optimistic than most on here, but lower mid table beckons for use. Which will do just fine for me.
BBM will have a plan B, but even without one we have enough to be better than the last two seasons.

Glad that someone else has had misgivings about Ryan. Admittedly I haven't seen every game but those that I have I'm yet to really see what he has to offer, just looks busy without making much of an impact. I'm prepared to put it down to taking time to get up to speed and it not being easy making sporadic appearances. Hope there's much better to come.

Disappointing display today, once again too many simple passes mis-placed and a lack of attacking threat. Why it took us 75 mins to realise that using Rhys down the left was a wise idea is beyond me. Camps must have had about 3 touches all first half. We need to make a change up top. I would like BBM to bring Alby back in alongside Hendo. Pyke whilst having the physique and pace always seems to give 70%, that could be down to injury. I agree about Ryan, just passed sideways and backwards. Little lost as to why Morley has gone out of favour after some decent games this season. Looking forward to the Swamp! Big shout to the young lad trying to get our crowd singing behind the goal what a star!

It’s clearly work in progress for BBM..the squad isn’t what he would like to have at his disposal..but it’s almost a make do and mend situation at the present.

The Utd game is bound to be a distraction..a decent performance on Weds ..hopefully not a Watfordesqe type..will give the lads a huge lift ..we continue to punch above our weight by just staying in this league...

Poor today. Not good enough, lack.of ideas, no depth of squad. Injuries could be biting. Too many players having off days.

Here's hoping that get Wednesday out of the way and we can bounce back on saturday.

1 point from 3 games_ BBMs worst run of form since becoming the manager.

Now 30 points from 20 games since taking over 1.82 pts per game last season 1.11 points per game this season. 5th worst goal difference in the division. The only bit of light in the tunnel is that we have played 6 /9 games against sides in the top 10 places (3 points) compared with only 3 games vs the bottom 10 teams (7 points).

The lack of a striker to play alongside Henderson has been self-evident now for 3 seasons and shows in the "goals for" column. I think we have been found out. .... again.

I think a number of people including myself have pointed out this tough start to the season. The next 5 or 6 matches against mid to bottom teams will show if we have progressed and if we should carry on with this playing it out from the back. Sanchez in particular needs to stop some of these lightly chipped passes out or along the ground where it only just avoids their forward. Im optimistic about October but have been wrong many times before !!!

Whatever the outcome, we need some strength upfront anyway. Perhaps Alby will hit a rich vein of form but if not I think we will struggle on the goals side

Cant agree with the post about Ollie. Sure he ran his socks off as usual but the end product today was poor, hardly ever finding a teammate. I would bring Morley back to the starting line up and start with Calvin (who had a decent game for the length of time he played) or Alby if fit. Whatever team BBM picks on Weds lets go to the swamp and give it a right good go.

Had to work today, so missed the game, sadly (or not).

I’m told the performance was something of a blueprint. I’ve said all I can on the lack of experienced forward presence.

I fear we’ll plough on like this until January, with the odd decent result picked up here and there to just keep us out of the bottom three.

That may be classed as a success if we are at least entertained along the way. Sounds like that wasn’t the case today.

Key injuries didn’t help us, but Fleetwood were good for the win.

The loss of O’Connell changed the game for me.MJW is a great CDM but he is (for me) not a great CD.

The first goal went all across our box with no block and MJ got done by Evans for the second goal.

Pike was also having a decent game for me. His injury lead to OMR being pushed out wide.

The early confidence at back diminished as O’C went of and we got pushed deeper and deeper, the goal being almost inevitable.

I don't disagree, was merely positing the question. Wednesday's game is pretty much a free hit in terms of the result, barring a hiding which could be damaging for morale.

Seems Henderson was having a poor game so the substitution was a tactical one. Calvin is capable of providing a physical presence up front for others to play off but seems he didn't have the desired effect today. Being more direct and getting the ball forward quicker wouldn't hurt in the current circumstances. We need Andrew or Wilbraham to step up and perform that role but whichever of them it is is going to need a run of games to be fully effective.

Nathan Greenwood is a decent attacking midfielder at Sunderland kids but you know who I meant, but the point I made, despite pedantic bookworm stuff still remains.

Why are we not taking quality kids on loan off the local clubs way above us???

I’ve no idea who you mean.

Pyke’s on loan from Huddersfield, Norrington-Davies is on loan from Sheffield United, Sanchez is on loan from Brighton, Ethan Hamilton was on loan from Man United.

That’s three Premier League clubs and one very recent Premier League club.

I’m sure we’ve looked for strikers and other positions, but for whatever reasons, they haven’t materialised.

Or you could say, we have pyke on loan, who Huddersfield feel is not good enough for the championship, Norrington I agree is class, Sanchez is good but has errors built in him (ideal loan for parent club) and Hamilton is 200 miles from Manchester playing for a side that are very poor.

City or united could lend us a wonder kid, for free, but ask that they start every week. Am not saying that’s the answer but you fail to mention the other loans that were crap.

Hamilton and Lon are the only recent loans I would say have improved us a lot in the last 3 seasons

You asked why we weren’t loaning players from local bigger clubs. I named some that we have currently, as well as last season, in addition to a goalkeeper from a not-so-local bigger club. I can also add Ebanks-Landell to the list from last season.

None of us have any knowledge of how Huddersfield rate Pyke, but your comment about him contradicts everything else in your posts.

I know where Hamilton is. We apparently tried to get him back, but a combination of himself, his people and Man United opted for Southend. Again, that isn’t us not trying to loan in a player from a local bigger club.

You then said I failed to mention other loans that were crap, but that wasn’t your original point, so I’m struggling with its relevance.

City or United could lend us a wonder kid for free!!! Not in the real world they wouldn’t.

We also have Magloire from Blackburn, who is highly rated, though Blackburn might not epitomise the definition of 'big' local club. They also bunged us Sam Hart last season.

Recently, Connor Randall from Liverpool was a disaster and Joel Pereira from United was average at best and couldn't supplant Lillis in net. Going back a bit we had some highly rated at the time strikers loaned to us in Paul McCallum and Ellington? (the guy from Liverpool, it's early and can't be bothered looking it up) whose impact between them amounted to bugger all. Just because they arrive from a big club with a big reputation it doesn't guarantee success.

Do we remember Bergkamp 🙈

I think we generally get more bad than good when it comes to loans. And that's down to the nature of the signing, you're generally taking a chance on a young player that has no or little first team experience and hoping they take to it.

One of the better signings we've had in the past was Kelvin Etuhu he was awesome in that first spell before getting injured and I thought that could have been the start of a link up with City but that never materialised. And nowadays their youngsters probably make alot more money.
