No idea on official figures but I listened to the GMR (or whatever it's called) podcast of the whole game a few days later and the commentators kept referring to the 7000 Dale fans. |  |

Yes I heard that but I'm pretty sure he was just exaggerating a bit - the 7000 figure seemed way too much considering we only sold just under 6000 tickets - and he wouldn't have known the numbers who paid on the night. | |

There were 7,269 in the away end, but that includes a load of free tickets United gave away to junior clubs, schools and other grass roots football.

Thanks, those are great numbers and I think its fantastic they gave unsold tickets to schools. Hopefully a few of those kids come to Spotland in the future. | |
