IMHO we played better football under Hill. Especially the no fear 'era'. Where did this Pep Guardiola invented passing football thing come from? I remember Arsenal playing pretty much the same way in the early 00s. Whilst these teams with hundreds of millions to spend on players can absolutely nail the Tika-Taka and similar styles of play. In the wrong hands (those without the class players) it can be as dire as hoof it into the corners.

On a different subject but still in the NYT (much of their soccer content is better than our own newspapers) this is very interesting regarding next summer's Euros - https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/08/sports/russia-wada-euro-2020.html
