£1 million is not enough, even though he is only 17 years old and in his first season as a pro. Of course Wolves are taking a risk on a relatively untried, inexperienced player, but the rewards for them - and Luke - are potentially massive.
We should have expected the initial fee to be a t least 50% more than that, with generous clauses for a variety of future outcomes/transfers.
I wish the lad every success in the world, because he deserves it. I can't help but think that if the current reports are true, we have been sold down the river in terms of the financial returns, even though he remains here for the time being.

People are saying that Matheson is worth more than a million, is he!
From what ive have read and seen in highlights his defensive positioning needs work.
I dont think Matheson is a natural FB but an attacking wing back perhaps Wolves or whoever is prepared to purchase his services may see something else in him...
I think a fee of between £1-1.5m plus generous addons.....
Bonus is that Matheson maybe loaned back to the club for the remainder od the season so that takes up Magloire loan space........ |  |

After having expectations raised, this is a disappointing number. Of course none of us know how much he's really worth yet, but potential projections have seen fees in the next order of magnitude for similar talents. This feels like accepting the first offer with seven figures to me? I look forward with interest to the answer, after the inevitable questions at the fans forum are raised. Wtf and why? | |
