A bit rich, coming from somebody associated with a club owned by a oil-rich Gulf state.

If the premier league clubs didn’t hoard youth players they wouldn’t need to propose B Teams. Surely it’s better for a younger player to be gaining experience at a real club In am adult league further down the pyramid and if the time is right, move to a premier league club.

As for not sustainable, if football clubs put all their eggs in one basket and bank on TV income, European qualification etc then they’ll hopefully get a shock some day. Leeds United know all about that. City probably well equipped if/when the bubble bursts as they have fingers in lots of pies. Other clubs in the greedy league less so.

They powers that be (or B) can see that putting watered down Premier League sides into the EFL trophy killed off the competition for the majority of fans. What was already a poorly attended competition saw crowds dwindle to low hundreds for a lot of games. If they want to kill of the EFL too go ahead and place B teams in the EFL. I don’t think I’d ever part with my cash to watch Dale play a B team.

Didn't the German team that took the young star off Manchester City put him immediately into the first-team? Perhaps City should've tried that rather than spending £60m on Riyad Mahrez who plays in the same position?

Does he think the prospect of playing U23 football for Man City's reserves in League One at places like Accrington and Fleetwood would've prevented Jadon Sancho from being tempted by the prospect of first-team football at Borussia Dortmund? Or that playing in League One would've been in some way better for Sancho's development than being at Borussia Dortmund?

Tangled up in blue.

d3 d4 have a very good interview on the PL potentially bailing out the EFL http://d3d4football.com/d3d4-podcast-extra-andy-pilley-interview/

In return there are a few "demands" the PL are likely to add. The biggest worry for us is that they may request academy funding to stop and all academies would only be run by the PL clubs. This would allow them to scoop up all young players & you would then limit those players who play there way into the big clubs by playing into the lower leagues. This would be a disaster for us as our model is develop, play and sell

Worth a listen ( The interview id the first item)

The premier league clubs don’t really want to bail out the EFL, Simon Jordan says they would effectively be giving money to their competitors. The amount of money likely to be paid is going to be small beer

Think I'd rather the EFL cut ties with the Premier League and break up the pyramid than allow B teams. Think the Prem would be pretty boring without relegation.

Poll: What are we more excited for?

That would never happen, in order to be eligible for the European club competitions there has to be promotion/relegation from the top flight.

It would be a good bargaining tool though.

European football then would come to the Championship? A better bargaining tool than I thought.

I'm certain it would never happen but B teams should not be allowed in any circumstance.
