Not doing too bad on goals and assists in the League One tables.

Morley joint 4th with 6 assists.

Lund 7th with 10 goals
Humphrys joint 10th with 8 goals

Has Humphrys been given the goal against Crewe now as he mentioned on his video how it had been taken off him?

Surprised it wasn’t anyway as he claimed it straight away and it certainly wasn’t obvious it wasn’t his, so doubt anyone at the EFL or wherever would have been demanding Morley got it.

Matty Lund scored his 50th career goal the other night.

And Dale conceded at least three goals for the fourth consecutive home match for the first time since Feb - May 1932.

The last seven home games of that season were 1-4, 0-3, 0-6, 3-5, 3-5, 1-3 & 1-4.

And Morley I'm guessing now gets the assist counted.

Yes, he's got 8 assists in all competitions now.

Camps was our top assister last season with 8, but that was up to March.

Good stats. Strange to think many of us (me included) were highly critical of Morley's performances at the start of the season, mainly due to where he was being played. And now with an assist record like that he's suddenly indispensable to the team.

Secondly, a word for Humphrys. To miss over a third of the season and still be on 8 goals is great stuff. Although I suspect if he hadn't missed that chunk of the season he'd be attracting plenty of suitors.

Lost the last 13 home games that season (19-53 in goals for those games) and followed up by losing the first home game of the following season. We used 37 players that season.

We only got 4 wins and 11 league points and had to apply for re election but were pretty safe from any fear of losing league status because Wigan Borough dropped out of the league in October after 12 games. They had already got 3 wins and 7 points by then and were one point behind us (3 wins and 8 points)

Mansfield Town had entered Div 3 south that season and were transferred to Div 3 North for the 1932-3 season to replace Wigan. Aldershot and Newport entered Div 3 south to make up for Mansfield's loss and Thames going out of the league.

You've got a good memory

Thames? That's a new one, must look that up

It appears we both find the early history of the football league (well, from when Dale joined in 1921) fascinating

It's not just about football of course. It's also a snapshot into industrial history. Teams such as Thames (i'm probably not far off in assuming they were based on docklands communities) and also Ashington & Merthyr Town (mining communities) were at that time looking to expand their profile through sport. Same applies to Dale. We could so easily have followed those other teams into the history books rather than surviving to achieve our centenary as a football league club
