Another legend joins the heavenly squad.

Great player, great story-teller and great TV personality alongside Greavesie.

Thanks for the memories Ian, Rest in Peace.

And Mike Baldwin yesterday

Undoubted knowledge? Or just the application of common sense and using my brain?

Fantastic player and Broadcaster.
Only 21 caps for Scotland was a complete travesty
Always amused by a Scouse joke at the time of
"What would you do if Jesus Christ returned today"

In the day when sportsman's dinners were a popular way to raise money, I saw him twice, once on his own & once with Greavsie. He was a very good and knowledgable speaker and amusing too. Both great nights. RIP

PS - good footballer too !!

That's not quite correct. This was in a time when Frank Lord ( ex Dale centre forward ) was banging the goals in at Crewe and one or two big clubs were looking at him.

The quote was " What would you do if the Lord comes ". The rest is correct.

I remember seeing a picture of a church in Liverpool, with a huge billboard outside, proclaiming boldly, " JESUS SAVES".

Underneath, some scouse wag had added, "But St. John scores from the rebound".
