I’m just wondering what the club’s stance is on this. They say they reluctantly allowed him to leave. Why? If another club were after him we’ve just sacrificed our compensation. This isn’t a club legend like Hill, or even someone who’s had a modicum of success. The only thing he’s done is got us relegated, we owe him nothing. |
We owe him nothing, but he owes us some loyalty. It can’t be just that he wanted to leave, there must be something else. Given everything, his successes and failures, he does come across as a decent chap. Baffling. |  |

Might simply be for personal reasons he wants a break from football management.
If Hill does return whether it be as Manager or DoF. Perhaps a no interviews clause could be included in his contract or an electric shock collar to go off when ever he makes a bizarre Cantonaesque statement. |  |

Its fairly cowardly to send your Agent to tell the club he is resigning. I Don't think he was ever the guy for a scrap and that's what we need at the moment. If there is anyone on the Boards radar, which seems unlikely, they should be looking for someone who relishes a battle, not a tippy tappy, keep the ball and pass it backwards type. We are heading for a very difficult period of history, and I suspect we will need nerves of steel and the hide of a rhino . still, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger .

I’m really disappointed- more than anything because we’re going to be entering a season behind schedule and playing catch-up, which could be the difference between relegation and promotion. It has to be, BBM probably knows he`s not a manager`s backside, but with Bottomley there he knew he could get away with it, at least until February when his twelve month extension was up. Certainly a seismic event on the cusp of a new season, but there`s no reason to think Jim and Riley can`t take the players for training and get them fit, they`ll all professionals and should know what they need to do. Me thinks McShane might be the first bloke to get a phone call. | | | |
