Reading that there appear two versions of events this Summer.

The Athletic's version vs the false BBC version.

A mention for David Bottomley too which I'm sure he'll appreciate.

Heh. He might add that to his recently updated CV, which is giving Bob Mortimers book a run for its money in the hilarity stakes.

I'm not sure that the recently departed David Kilpatrick wold be too chuffed to read that he was the father of the previous chairman, Andrew Kilpatrick.

“Transformational leader”

I used to work with someone who referred to themselves as a leader and came out with all type of cringy stuff.

He was a prick too.

I saw that CV on a the LinkedIn page.

It claims that Rochdale is a "£8m" turnover business. Bottomley is noting that he was CEO from 2018.

The years of audit turnover from Companies House:

2019/20 - £6,928,682
2018/19 - £4,998,001

Not sure where £8m comes from. Either the CV is wrong and embellished or the accounts signed by Bottomley on behalf of the Board are wrong.

There are many other, obvious errors in the CV.

Seems Bot Bot has been taking tips from his buddy Jarvis as I can no longer see his LinkedIn profile!

That last set of accounts signed off by the deposed CE had the genius claim that the commendable profitability of that year came about from events yet to happen.

So to clarify, he's claiming two in the bush is better than a bird in the hand?

Notice he chucked in a “BBC Sport understands…” line there.

In other words, he made it up.

Did he come to Spotland on Saturday?

Dunno, but he appeared on Northwest Tonight last night, outside Old Trafford, looking like any other disgruntled and dishevelled Man U supporter. I was surprised when his name appeared on the caption - Simon Stone of BBC.

He seems to have sprung up from nowhere, spouting ill-researched soundbites, left right and centre.
