A Club United - Crowdfunding 12:14 - Jan 28 with 55039 viewsUpTheDaleNotForSale

So it looks like the Trust and Club need to raise c.£130K to fight the legal action being brought by Morton House.

Its a big number, so probably worth collating any information into one thread. We'll need the wider football family to support our club now more than ever.

And where the eff are the EFL in all of this? Not a peep out of them either way. Let’s have some kind of statement from them whether for or against or couldn’t give a sh*t. We need to know where they are up to. Say something please.
Or are Rochdale simply too insignificant for them to bother with. That’s what it feels like.

The worm of time turns not for the cuckoo of circumstance.

EFL = Extremely F**king Lily-Livered

As shown with events at Bury, Bolton, Derby, Wigan etc. the EFL only ever act after the event and never in a timely and worthwhile way, they usually just kick the can down the road and hope the problem goes away.
In an Ideal world the independent regulator recommended in the Crouch report should be a either a direct replacement for the EFL or in a role that effectively make them the boss and requires the EFL to report to them directly as the EFL simply isn't fit for purpose.

I’ve donated. Share the link far and wide. It’s a costly defence, but let’s turn the tables and once again show our collective strength.

Do Morton House MGT and First Form Construction Ltd (‘Morton House’) have the balls or means to take this all the way? We shall see, but the board of directors and Dale Trust aren’t going to buckle, and will be supported by Dale fans and football fans from across the country.

The link and a brief explanation of what is happening needs to be spread as far and wide as possible, and not just football, this behaviour puts all sports clubs with their own grounds in jeopardy.
Lets make sure everyone who checks our results on saturdays knows we now need them to cough up a tenner, everyone who once used to come to Spotland and now doesn't because they moved away or whatever. Check out your old school facebook pages and send out the plea, ask people to pass it on to other people.
*Lets get a list together of famous people from Rochdale and get the message to them and ask for a contribution that we can sell or raffle or just a simple donation. Who do you follow on Twitter?
*Lets try and get a few quid from every player who played here and went on to bigger things.
*Lets ask every fans group in the country for as big a contribution as they can manage.
*Lets get a collection tin on every counter in town. And a poster in every shop window.
*With 11 home games left we can raise well over 20k at £1 per game into ( dare I say it..) collection buckets plus visiting fans contributions
*Maybe our club sponsors can come up with some prizes for a huge Summer raffle?

..."first they came for our club.. now they are coming for our Directors and fans..."

We are getting it out there on social media, but one of the best ways anybody can help now is to like / share / retweet and most importantly tag in any media / football / celebrity accounts and anybody with influence. Share anything from our pages, the Trust pages and / or the club pages and lets get the word out there.

The more people that know about it, the quicker we will hit the target.. there is plenty of interest already, and it looks like the funding page will be at around £5K before 2pm.

So if Morton House take this all the way, and if we win the court case what happens to them? Do they face costly damages and if so how do we ensure they pay for this, will they simply declare themselves bankrupt and get away with it. These vvankers need to be made to pay. Having said that my real hatred is for those that sold their shares. Never forgotten never forgiven. Their time will come.

The fundraising is only set up to run for another 29 days. I'm guessing the money is needed ASAP.

Over £5k in the first three hours.

Fans around the country getting involved in Rochdale vs the World.

It's as simple as it says:

"Governance in football is a huge issue right now with the Tracey Crouch Fan Led Review, and we are of the opinion that the safest future for our beloved club is that it continues to be owned and ran by supporters for the benefit of supporters and the community at large."

This could really take off once the football community see it over the weekend.

£7K in less than 5 hours. Great start!

Some of the comments are brilliant too... the whole football family looks to be getting involved. Lots of noise, lots of donating, and no doubt lots of publicity for everyone involved.

Great effort let's hope the momentum builds over the weekend. With it being pay day for alot hopefully that helps. Noticed a couple of £1k donations. Unbelievable generosity. And donations from Chelsea, Leeds, Charlton, Bristol fans etc. Brilliant to see.

Obviously a lot will have dug deep with the share issue but this is equally as important.

If 26,000 people all donated £5 that is the target reached

Average aggregate weekend football crowd just for the Premier League is 400,000 fans across 10 fixtures.

So if 6.5% of those attending a Premier League fixture donated £5 that would do it too.

Some unbelievable generosity from some but the law or large numbers is something that will change the game.

If you've ever been tempted to ring in for a football phone in - this is the weekend to do it!

I'm hoping that HMRC & the boys in blue will come calling before they have the opportunity to progress it Brierls.

From their point of view, they don't have a lot to lose - they're not going to see their investment back in full any other way. Probably worth risking £150k in lawyers fees - unless they lose & end up funding both lots of fees. That would be very unfortunate.
