Yes. He made a very good debut for us.

I think that's our ninth keeper in less than a season and a half, never known anythinhg like that. Good luck to the lad, his distribution was good today.

He'd make a very capable League 2 keeper after that showing....fitted our style of play perfectly!!

I haven't seen enough of him to make a proper judgement. He made a routine save today and his distribution was good, he did nothing wrong. I judge a keeper on how few mistakes he makes over a sustained period of games.

Whatmuff out for a month and back with City for treatment.

Will get to see a good bit more over the next few weeks.

I want to know who would have been between the sticks if our goalie was off for whatever reason last season when there was no sub keeper

If you're talking first half that was a bit more than a routine save

A save he should have made, i didn't think 'great save' at the time. Maybe it was a very good save, i'll look back at it.

You're probably being a tad harsh on him there TS, it was a shot I wouldn't have been surprised if it had whistled in the net, remember thinking at the time it looked a very good save from pretty close range and at a fair pace.

What really stood out was how comfortable he looked fitting in with how we play. His positioning to receive the ball and then find players with the right pass was very good, he’s obviously picked it up quickly in training this week.

I thought the shot was straight at him and we got a bit lucky with the ball bouncing between two of their players from the save but you could be right, i'll have to see a replay. I'm not criticising him i just thought we defended well and he didn't have much to do, so it's hard to judge him. His distribution with his feet was very good. I can't remember one long kick from him up to Mani yesterday, that's a tactic we've used in games this season, having said that they had a massive central defender who i thought was very good. First impressions of the keeper, he looked very competent.

I agree too its impossible to judge anyone purely off one game either way

Another very good display defensively again yesterday. In fact we were good all over the pitch. There is one team that stands out in the final third this year and that's York, they're ruthless up front. I think we need to be more dynamic up front and we are missing another real goal threat, for the amount of posession we have we should be scoring more goals really. That's my only criticism.

Rodney had one of his 'quiet' games yesterday so that didn't help and no matter what Gilmour said we are still turning down shooting opportunities in and around the box. Barlow had one where he tried a fancy flick to Dieseruvwe when he had space to shoot and Gilmour running onto a ball on the edge of the area should've shot but tried a really difficult one two and it came to nothing.

Yes we overplayed in the final third during the second half, especially down our right hand side. Players waiting for the ball to come into the box but we turned down the opportunity and lost the ball by being too intricate instead of putting it in the danger area. Get the ball in to Mani and he'll score.

Proved 100% with Allarakhia's ball into the box - put it into a dangerous area and anything can happen.

Personally I thought the new keeper had a very good debut and looked very assured.
At no point through the game did he cause any panic. His distribution and shot stopping (although there wasn't much) was perfectly acceptable.
All in all a good start for someone aged 23 with not many games under his belt.

Today's quiz question.

As far as I can find, he's the 13th goalkeeper to have been with Dale and Bolton as a player. Who are t'others?
