So for us the recent drop off in form and the consequential results achieved are disappointing.
But for the York fans they must be happy to be 2 points ahead basically requiring 1 draw from their next 2 games and a win against Dale to win the league.
However if it comes to that final game decider memories of last years failure in the play offs will certainly come to mind for them.

They probably feel like they are pretty much invincible at the minute. Since their slip up v Gateshead they've beaten 2 of their bogey teams, Boston at a ground they've never won in the league before and Altrincham with a 96th minute winner and an in form Woking (albeit with another soft penalty but they won't mind). They have a very tough test at lunchtime Saturday, Tamworth unbeaten in 7 at home and won their last 5 at home against the likes of Boreham Wood,Forest Green and Carlisle. Any sort of blip just to dent a bit of their ultra confidence would help us enormously - and then we have to do our bit. |  |

We need Mani D back to form and firing. He's not scored since Southend (a) and missed a penalty v Tamworth too. 5 games without a goal equals his worst run for us. He scored in the 6th game last time. Let's hope that repeats on Saturday because we desperately need him scoring again if we are to win this league. He's been our talisman and the biggest reason we've improved so much on last season - Gordon mentioned he's carrying a knock so let's hope some rest and recuperation this week does the trick. | |

IMO he'd be better off leaving the team talks to Taylor or Done

By the time we got back to our cars York had won it with a 100th min penalty. We were 5 points clear when 2-0 up at Scunthorpe. The other occasion we could have gone 5 clear was the disastrous night at Southend. Its been self inflicted the failure to stretch any sort of lead but we are still fighting. As Jim said 3 wins and we've won the League - simple really. | |

I don't know why, but the defeat at York in November is regularly omitted when looking back at previous results (and it was after the famous Brackley game).
A draw that night would have given Dale an extra point and York two less, moving forward.
Obviously, there's been plenty of water under the bridge since then and subsequent results may well have been different (Chaos Theory), but that result could turn out to be the most important of the previous 45 come 25th April. | |
