| What do you think York fans are thinking? 18:54 - Apr 7 with 6575 views | frenzied | So for us the recent drop off in form and the consequential results achieved are disappointing. But for the York fans they must be happy to be 2 points ahead basically requiring 1 draw from their next 2 games and a win against Dale to win the league. However if it comes to that final game decider memories of last years failure in the play offs will certainly come to mind for them. Come April 25th momentum and everything else goes out of the window ..it’s who can deliver on that day over 90 Mins . | | | | |

| What do you think York fans are thinking? on 19:38 - Apr 7 with 3231 views | dingdangblue | They probably feel like they are pretty much invincible at the minute. Since their slip up v Gateshead they've beaten 2 of their bogey teams, Boston at a ground they've never won in the league before and Altrincham with a 96th minute winner and an in form Woking (albeit with another soft penalty but they won't mind). They have a very tough test at lunchtime Saturday, Tamworth unbeaten in 7 at home and won their last 5 at home against the likes of Boreham Wood,Forest Green and Carlisle. Any sort of blip just to dent a bit of their ultra confidence would help us enormously - and then we have to do our bit. | |

Then, we have to do the bizz at San Spotty against Wealdstone who stuffed SoftLad's Shots on Saturday and put 7 passed Pools a few days earlier. They lie 15th in Form Guide, crazy this game?
| What do you think York fans are thinking? on 12:37 - Apr 8 with 2638 views | dingdangblue | We need Mani D back to form and firing. He's not scored since Southend (a) and missed a penalty v Tamworth too. 5 games without a goal equals his worst run for us. He scored in the 6th game last time. Let's hope that repeats on Saturday because we desperately need him scoring again if we are to win this league. He's been our talisman and the biggest reason we've improved so much on last season - Gordon mentioned he's carrying a knock so let's hope some rest and recuperation this week does the trick. | |

You've unsurprisingly omitted their 5-1 loss at Boreham Wood, which came in between the Hartlepool (whom they put seven 'past') and Aldershot matches.

Only 4 away wins all season (although so did Morecambe) although unlike Morecambe they have nothing to play for. They are one of the worst travellers in the league - let's face it if we don't beat them we don't deserve to win the league title.

Absolutely, although as Gary Waddock stated at the weekend, the players are playing for a place in their team for the FA Trophy Final against Southend.

Team need to show the crazy desire to win if drawing in second half which i though was missing at Hartlepool personally, handbrake was always on. Team need to win to get Fortress Spotland atmosphere back for the final game. Do or die stage now, simple situation. Cup mentality. Some york fans will think its won, some will be wary of Tamworth, others of game 46. Some will have 25-26 hatred of Dale, others will have empathy. Mixed bag, same as our fanbase have been the last couple of months.

I'll go with the "mixed bag" idea too for York fans We've never been in a "four points clear" situation, we've not "thrown anything away" Didn't see the Hartlepool game or listen to JM's post match interview (it'd probably just wind me up) but if he alluded to making sure we didn't lose rather than going for the win he has to be making very different noises this week, and next, and the week after. IMO he'd be better off leaving the team talks to Taylor or Done Could be the players aren't listening after nine months of listening, and/or he's not capable of expressing a cup-tie attitude. Can't fault his input for the season to date, but the players know what's needed and just need a few words to reassure them to go for it without fear of being judged for stepping it up

I'll precis what he said - "We know what we have to do, three wins and we win the league." I'm glad you've mentioned what you have in your second sentence, as there have been a number of other Dale fans on other social media claiming both of those things!

Cheers. The take that he'd said we were playing to not lose came from the comments of others. Social media, huh... I'd still prefer Taylor/Done to take up the talking - if they're not already doing so [Post edited 8 Apr 15:22]

We were 4 points clear of them the night we beat Forest Green and were leaving Spotland hearing Hartlepool had just equalised at York. By the time we got back to our cars York had won it with a 100th min penalty. We were 5 points clear when 2-0 up at Scunthorpe. The other occasion we could have gone 5 clear was the disastrous night at Southend. Its been self inflicted the failure to stretch any sort of lead but we are still fighting. As Jim said 3 wins and we've won the League - simple really.

But York will be kicking themselves if it's not settled before coming to the COA

When they lost at Gateshead and we were 2-0 up at Scunthorpe they would have thought that was that. They had a massive boost that night and have won all 3 since. I think before that they were just hoping we'd slip up and they'd be 3 points behind us at the most going into that last game. Tamworth away is a potential massive banana skin for them Saturday, plastic pitch, without Stones and Tamworth in great form. If they win that then fair play to them - just any sort of slip up at this stage will put pressure and doubt in their minds. A win and 5 points ahead puts us under huge pressure come 5.30 Saturday. It's going to be exciting and nervous either way.

Unsurprsingly, I could have mentioned losses to Gateshead, FGR and Yeovil before the seven 'past' jobby but who cares? My point is the game is unpredictable, that's all ......stay calm.

Have the club confirmed Stones is out? Apparently he had concussion and it was thought he’d only miss Monday as it was so soon after the last game.

Maynard's post match interview he said he'd be back for Yeovil. Infact looking into National League protocols for concussion it actually says 21 days minimum. [Post edited 8 Apr 19:39]

I don't know why, but the defeat at York in November is regularly omitted when looking back at previous results (and it was after the famous Brackley game). A draw that night would have given Dale an extra point and York two less, moving forward. Obviously, there's been plenty of water under the bridge since then and subsequent results may well have been different (Chaos Theory), but that result could turn out to be the most important of the previous 45 come 25th April.

My point is that the Boreham Wood game was within the same 'passed' week timeframe as the aforementioned Hartlepool and Aldershot matches. I'm perfectly calm; it's t'others!
