Here we go….

The biggest game of our season..

The town is behind the club.. I have never had so many good luck Dale messages from friends with only a passing interest in Dale.

When Saturday comes… it’s time to deliver.

What a season we are having there is no doubt we have the talent and ability to see this over the line.

I don't care if we give the worst performance of the season tomorrow as long as we get three points.

No silly changes, no silly decisions... Let's get through it and set ourselves up for what could be one of the most incredible (or soul destroying) games we see in our lives.

There seems to be more interest in the club now than ever, that's what winning football matches does. Irrespective of how this season ends i wouldn't be surprised to see us break our season ticket sales record over the summer. A small price increase in season tickets has to be expected but hopefully there is already a advertising campaign planned to keep the momentum going during the close season. The World Cup taking place could help with that. I actually think that being in the National League has been a big positive in respect of attracting new fans and certainly raised interest levels around the Town. We all want promotion but i wouldn't view another season in the National League as a disaster in respect of building the home support. People want to watch winning football , not a team that's struggling to compete week in and week out. Winning the league next week would be great but so would a Play Off final at Wembley, all things that give the club a fantastic opportunity to promote the club around the Town and attract new fans, especially the young ones. On the pitch we are ahead of the three year plan, under normal circumstances we would already be league champions.

Great to hear Manni D interview. We will need such level heads over the next few games.

Few games?

Let’s hope it’s as little as two

For all the staff both on and off the field their anxieties will be very enhanced pre match..like most pressure situations its the before bit rather than the actual during bit thats worse.

The Braintree scenario may actually be useful in that its a must win game which more likely than not is the same situation the week after...so gives the staff a small experience of whats to come.

I just wonder if the late kick off makes it worse whereas the early kick off next week may be better.

Please start with the same 11 that finished the last game or at least with Hendo..tomorrows game needs guille more than gung ho to start.

Would the team travel down today.....stay locally and saunter into Braintree around midday tomorrow?

Surely they won't travel down on the day?

They could stay over. They could travel by train. They could travel by plane.

With it being a later kick off there are various options but whatever they decide will no doubt be meticulously planned out.

Agreed..

They will be ready.

Should be a decent away following and a packed out Ratcliffe.

The situation we are in is earned.. Really Looking forward to it.

Good luck to the lads today, play with intensity and no fear. Most importantly, have real belief that you can do this, we're not here to roll over and play second fiddle to York. I'm going to give York a bit of credit though, they've done well to keep up with us, it's not easy when you've been chasing for much of the season. Nobody could have complained had we wrapped this league up a couple of weeks ago, overall we've been the best team for most of it, just stuttered a bit over the last month.

Safe journey to our fantastic fans also, the ones who travel the length and breadth of the country week in week out are on a different level and hopefully the team will reward their efforts with a massive three points. I'll be in North Yorkshire today at Thirsk Races proudly wearing my Dale tie and i don't want to see or hear anybody with York connections celebrating later this evening, We've got this, let's do it.

This is our biggest game for many years, but only with a fervent hope until the next one. Travelling over to the game with the brother in law and nephew, Dale are only their second team, but they will get caught up in the atmosphere I’m sure.
Trust Jim to know exactly what team is required to get the job done. A big day, and a useful dress rehearsal for next week. I would like to see a return to form today, especially a clean sheet, winning ugly will not be an option next week. It will do the players good to get a strong performance under their belts.

On several occasions this season I've hoped for a win that makes a statement of intent to the chasing pack. I don't think it ever happened when I'd hoped. Similarly, the number of times we've scored at home in the first 5 or 10 minutes with the chance to put in 4, 5 or 6 goals and yet again it didn't happen. Today has to be a win. However, if ever a statement win was needed, its today. We've seen recently that York aren't as mentally strong as some of their fans would like to believe and anything that puts more doubt in the York players, management and fans can only help. They're more than aware that they'll be dealing with 6000 plus Dale fans next week in a winner takes all match. Let's turn the pressure up even more with 3 or 4 goals today.

I hope Kyle Ferguson has a great game today and does his ex club a favour.
York recent wins have been by the odd goal so perhaps the free scoring element of their forwardsis on the wain.

Just been watching Southend at Halifax....HT 1-3 ......Southend playingwell.
Not a team to meet in play-offs.

Come on Dale get it done!

It means that there’s now a rare old scrap developing for fifth place (or even fourth) in the final table.

I know there’s a panic attached for some to the Southend fixture, but we’ve beaten them (almost twice) at Spotland since the playoff loss.

IF (hopefully not) we happened to have to play them, they will have played from good Friday... Fri-Mon-Sat-Tue-Sat-Tue-Sat-Tue/Wed and then semi-final on the Sunday

I'm tired just typing it.

Must win game of course but also a performance to give fans confidence for you know what. I think the Ogden's will have costed the plan to get back in the EFL meticulously.

Let York worry about how they will beat Southend in the play-offs. We just need to focus on winning our next 2 games.

Havant is in for Moss.

More attacking formation.

Safe to see that the manager sees what we see with that selection. Probably the team most would have picked.

Good to see Pritchard back on the bench too. Baptiste misses out.

Didn't see Baptiste missing out, would have thought JK may miss out instead for Pritch returning. I presume Moss is now the cover for the back 3, or if desperate maybe Gilmour moving back as he did against Hartlepool at Accy. As all season, I trust Jim has it all in hand.

Happy with that starting 11 though, I'd say that's our strongest now, let's goooo!

In a game where we have to win, suppose having more attacking options was the reason. As you say, Moss can provide enough cover for those at the back.

Allarakhia, McBride and Burger continuing to not make the squad too.
