FA Vase Final 14:33 - May 17 with 3950 viewsDaley_Lama

After their anti-football performance against Dale, i find it hard to cheer a Wealdstone on.

But it’s Southend United, the biggest club in. Southend.

Good luck The Stones (fans, not players)

AFC Stoneham have just beaten Cockfosters in the FA Vase final.
Southend are in the FA Trophy final.
Not sure who I want to win; a plague on both of their houses.

A few players suffering from cramp as added time approaches

One of the really impressive aspects last Sunday was how our lads kept going despite cramping up

In particular: Mani and Perry. The latter taking the penalty and then immediately feeling his leg tighten shows how much he wanted to step up in just about the most intense cauldron he may ever experience

Southend win on penalties.
Might keep Maher in a job!

Total attendance for the day was 43,306

Maestro? No. Elite? No. Heavyweight poster? No. Able to be rational and not over-react to individual results? Yes.

Why are Southend so over excited by an attendance for for a tin pot trophy game?

Who is non-league next season and who isn't?

It's like bury fans celebrating winning the Bodyform league 8 local village pub team division or whatever it was.

"And only as far as Casey Pettit......"

I’m so glad we escaped the NL; there are going to be some strong teams in there next season and it will be a real scrap to get out of it.
Thank God we’re not involved.

A win is a win to be fair.

Let's not forget we won the runners-up knockout cup and it was fan-bloody-tastic.

I must congratulate Southend for winning the Trophy, they deserve some success and I thank god, we don't have to complete in the Trophy next year.

Yet some Southend fans on their forum are still talking about Maher being replaced, despite reaching the NL playoff final last year, winning the FA Trophy and reaching the NL playoffs this year and I expect them to reach the playoffs next season.

Now let's go get Scott-Morris

Scott-Morris confuses me sometimes.
Is he a fullback? A right wingback? A midfield player?
Certainly knows where the goals are.
