Its a tough start for the new CEO too, although the Board will be plotting its next move already and maybe have been doing since the Stockport interest emerged,
MRKT will be busy compiling lists and there will be letters and phone calls coming in tomorrow,. We need safe hands from a team building perspective and I assume a continuation of the style set out by McNulty, At least MRKT will scour the globe and not just our backyard, .. Of the four mentioned, Luke Gerrard has just signed a new three year contract at Boreham Wood, Andy Butler and Chris Agutter do not inspire confidence, in that both Scunthorpe and Sutton were averaged at best. That leaves Jason Taylor, who as coached in the EFL and I feel was a factor in last seasons success, but there are a number of questions, 'does he wants the job or is he happy as a coach', 'does the board think he has the skills needed to re-establish us as a EFL team' and finally 'will he be tempted to follow McNulty to Stockport'.
That raises the question does the board look for a reasonable successful EFL manager, like Karl Robinson or Liam Manning for example, possible outside the box (I mean far, far outside the box) contenders David Flitcroft and even Keith Hill (both know the club inside out to either support Taylor 'if he is considered' or as a form of continuity manager). There will be the same old names mentioned every time a vacancy comes up, i.e. Darren Moore, Pete Wild, god forbade Mark Hughes, Simon Grayson and possibly Steve Bruce 'none of whom should be considered in my humble opinion'. | | | |

I hope the Directors help draw a line under this with a statement pretty quick and keep momentum going, bringing in new fans on the back of an epic season.
Hopefully its a shrewd decision made on a Manager thats better than Jim, as we should be getting improvements in all positions, for a new era and successful season. It might be he's a success at Stockport but it may be above his limit. The 'peter principle' like Hilly experienced.

Would someone like Taylor offer continuity of playing style (with some tweaks) which suits the players and also allows continuation of the culture that has been fostered. Would Taylor/Done prefer to be a manager in their own right rather than an assistant/coach elsewhere? | | | |

I am hoping Karl Robinson takes the reins. Above all we need a safe pair of hands at this moment in time ; no unnecessary risks with unproven managers need to be taken. Karl knows the division and he will have valuable contacts. Even if he doesn't come cheap I would stretch to get him because the manager is the most important person at the club. Get that right and all other things fall into place. |  |

It just screams 'let somebody else in the club have a go' and the job is much more important than that. There's never been a suggestion that Henderson wants to stay in football and go into coaching or management. He probably hasn't even got any coaching qualifications. He has a business outside football involving finance and property.
Whoever takes over has a big job ahead of them and recruitment over the next five or six weeks is going to have to be spot on, that means appointing somebody with experience and contacts i think. Preferably somebody who has managed at this level.
We can't afford for the budget to be wasted and then changing managers again in January, in a desperate attempt to avoid relegation. It worked with McNulty but this is no longer non league football and there will be very few games that we go into as favourites to win. I'm not bothered who it is if they come with the right credentials. It wouldn't even bother me if it was Karl Robinson or Steve Evans, we need a manager who is driven and will propel the whole club forward. Maybe Darren Ferguson fancies a long term project, he wouldn't be cheap but he's got loads of experience. Stockdale and Bentley both came across as 'nice people' but they were disasterous appointments. Those in the boardroom might see things differently, we'll have to trust their judgement. A manager who can oversee every aspect of the club is what we need i think as we move into a new chapter for the club both on and off the pitch. [Post edited 5 Jun 8:20]

KH was marvelous for us great times great players very entertaining..but its in the past.
Everything about the club has moved on..endlesly comparing Hill to McNulty is complete nonsense.
Id be surprised if Jim didnt take his backroom staff with him,
