| Laurence Maguire on 09:37 - Jul 4 with 7030 views | Delboy | Maguire has continued to please and impress MK Dons head coach Paul Warne, who said the ex-Chesterfield man is one of the most professional players in his squad. “He’s been a good player for us and never let us down, unfortunately he’s had injuries which have kept him out and others have picked up the cudgel. He’s one of the top three pros I’ve got,” Warne said of Maguire. “If I needed to put him in on a Saturday, I’d have no problems picking him. He’s been good, he’s in really good nick, and I know if he’s needed he’d be great for us.” | | | |

Still listed as playing for Rochdale. Would seem odd to update wiki before any medical and deal are concluded. Fitz also mentioned we had made two signings. If each signing takes this long to process, we will still be short of players in August.

Released 14 and signed 2. That leaves 12 minimum to back fill.. I cany imagine starting the league campaign with fewer in the squad than the national league campaign. Should be close by now and its important to keep our nerve to get our top targets here. Patience is key. We can ask FC United of Manchester to make it 7 a side worse case.

It is possible for anyone to edit Wikipedia, so someone has gone on there and jumped the gun, it seems.

To be fair, though, a lot of the 14 released players contributed very little last season, so we shouldn't need as many replacements if those brought in can affect the first team more.

Interesting to hear how he’s spoken to McNulty before he left too. Obviously makes even more sense now Watson is here. Would be good to know how long he’s been here training. If it was signed and sealed today, fair enough but this is no surprise signing.

Like this signing. Interesting that the discussions started when McNulty has still here. Nice blend of experience, and Williamson had lots of time for him as a pro when he was with MK. We were really taking a chance with EEL ,for a while last season ,after we let Hogan go. But this signing gives a bit more substance to the back line. It’s a yes from me. Welcome Laurence.

That is a good question, I hope MKRT are still involved in the signings, hopefully the club will clarify the situation. Maquire is an experience defender and brings the squad up to 17 (Edwards contract situation is a mystery, but is under age 22, so does not count to squad size of 22 outfield players), so we can sign 5 players age 22 or over, plus goalkeepers. Does anyone know if Maquire is a right sided CD or left sided and if right sided would fit into a back 3 of Maquire, EEL and Beckwith, if that is the system Watson prefers.
