Once a player moves on for less than a previous deal, the percentages previously usually end as deals are often ‘X percent of anything received over original fee.’
For example, Glenn Murray went for around 300k to Brighton in 2008, but he left for Palace at the end of his contract so it broke any percentages due to Dale as Brighton made no money. That he subsequently went for millions later in his career means nowt as Brighton made none of it and neither therefore did Dale.
Of course there may be exceptions and Villa may have a deal with Brentford that sees them get a percentage of anything received for Hogan, if so, we’ll get a percentage too. But it’s doubtful. |  |

So there has to be a continuity of profit. If a player moves for free or a loss and then a subsequently moves for a profit we won't make any on the future deals? | |
