1. They don't know why the person is selling.
2. They don't know what they used the space for.
3. No income is generated by the space.
When I asked if it was the space in the picture for sale the response was ”that or one like it.”
Who would be stupid enough to spend £10k on a 2.4 metres (7.9 ft) wide by 4.8 metres (16 ft) long parking space in bury? |  |

What the gullible idiots...err....disgruntled investors need to do is for all of them to hire skips for a day and have them delivered to their personal car parking space at, let's say, 9am on a matchday for collection at 5pm. The prospect of a car park full of skips and no car parking available at the ground to be compounded by a fleet of wagons rocking up as the match finishes and fans try to leave. The gullible...er canny investors were mesmerised by 9% return without thinking - "well, how does that work then?". I can see the potential for some form of return in a pay and display car park, but even the minimum of research would have shown that this didn't apply at giggle and would/should have led to the above obvious question.
To be fair, I would have assumed that the spaces were to be immediately leased back by the club thereby producing the return. This doesn't appear to have happened, and it looks like it was a Stewie ploy to get some readies in. On the other hand, maybe the club did sign up to to lease back and the money hasn't been paid to those canny investors. But surely Bury FC would never welch on paying their debts? Interestingly that article refers to 258 parking spaces sold.
That would mean Day / Mederco raised £2.58m, paid no VAT on those sales and did so in an unregulated way.
That would then have required a net £232,000 - approximately 20% of gate receipts - to cover the 9% investor return.
They say a fool and their money are soon parted.
258 fools in this case with a local bury estate agent now tempted to carry on that myth for some unsuspecting punter. | |

So that advert itself is misleading says 24 years rental assurance couldn't see the mention of 5 years not that the 'investors' even got that. As an unregulated investment does that mean the fca cannot take action against the perpetrators of this scam? I wonder if Day will ever try his hand at theatre production, anyone fancy investing in 'Spring time for Bury' | |

I like the idea of 300 mini skips being delivered to each car park space. Not just for a match day - dump them and leave them.
