One of the owners was rumoured to be possibly buying or investing in Bury before one of the SD's can't remember whether it was before SD1 or SD2 bought the club. If it was before SD2 got involved, so it may have just been message board talk as I'm pretty sure everyone from the Northwest with money was interested in that famous old club according to them. Danny Boyle and Jim Ratcliffe were mentioned at one point thought the later may have been after SD2 started selling the family silver.

National League TV

Just had a quick scan through the fixtures we've currently got 9 non Saturday 3pm games (that aren't already gonna be on TNT). That makes it £18.80 a game on the season pass if you are just interested in the Dale games presuming no more get televised.

Realistic signings
at 15:54 4 Jul 2023

No, we don't sign left backs. That isn't the Rochdale way.
We sign strikers with questionable scoring records and tell them they are left backs!
It's an age old tradition like Chippy Friday and Bury fans talking about playing in the Premier in a few years as whatever chancer owns them at the time sells their silverware and the keys to gigg lane to the scrap metal man.

Salford's looks like a badge you get in PES or Fifa when they could get the licencing right for the club and have use generic names and badge. Calling club's like Man U the Manchester Devils and Chelsea the London Blues.

National league play offs
at 15:56 4 May 2023

I was wondering whether an abundance of London clubs in the NLS would be the answer for the southerness of the NLN. I'd imagine with the population density there is would help clubs get to NLS level, (more potential players, more potential fans)

It appears my theory was right https://www.footballgroundmap.com/grounds/england/national-league-south

National league play offs

I'm was aware of how those two leagues are organised, I was being facetious more than anything.

It's just surprising considering how southern skewed the Nation League is, that the NLN and NLS are that southern skewed as well. I expected odd teams from either the NLN or NLS to be below the midlands or above them respectively to make the numbers work, but didn't expect the leagues make up to be that southern skewed.
Figured the club would be more even in their distribution.

I always assumed that you paid more in the main stand for the privilege of being able to moan at the manager........what other reason is there??? It certain isn't for the view, atmosphere or ample leg room!

Haemostasis and Thrombosis are both to do with blood, more specifically to do with clots

Haemostasis deals with stopping bleeding and haemorrhages
Thrombosis is blood clots in the arteries and veins

If they go through with participating in a competition that isn't FIFA/UEFA/FA sanctioned, they won't have a choice. Those clubs membership to the FA will be revoked and as much as the Prem has lots of power, it's still a FA sanctioned competition.

£250 million bailout
at 10:08 12 Oct 2020

The Elite Player Performance Programme already effectively did this job when it turn removed the arbitrated compensation that clubs needed to pay to smaller clubs and replaced it with much smaller flat payments based on Academy and year of training provided and also the 90 mile radius for club to pull academy players from. The only reason FL clubs signed up to is was for guaranteed funding to academies.
It's just more attempts to hoard players by Prem Clubs, there was a proposal this week by one of the Man City Execs about B-Teams in the EFL to replace any clubs that go out of business, because the jump between Academy football and full professional football is too much of a jump.

I means they could just not hoard players, allow them to go through other clubs youth system's and get game time at a younger age meaning they have experience and can cope better with full time football, but thats just me and my crazy ideas!

That was one of the rumoured criticism from Hilly at the time Humphreys went back if my patchy memory serves me well. That he was ignoring the training plan put together for him by the club and just doing his own thing, which was focusing on bulking up.

tomorrow can't come quick enough
at 15:38 18 Dec 2019

Following the dismissal of the winding up order today, I'm personally now looking forward to seeing who come out on top in the possibly 6 derbies played between Dale's Bury FC, the Pheonix club's Bury AFC and Robert Benwell's "I can't believe its not Bury FC". Give it another couple of weeks and half of the Northwest Counties League will be made up of clubs with Bury in their name. Forget the Rochdale division, there may end up being a literal league full of Bury clubs!

If you thought Bury fans could get any classier, there's currently a couple of them having a pop at the EFL's charity partner Mind on twitter for not doing more for the players, staff and fans while everything has been going on.

Having a go at a mental health charity, now that is pure class!
