Leeds v QPR Betting Preview
Leeds v QPR Betting Preview

The lads are back to cast their eyes across the weekend betting markets, primarily focusing on the R's trip to Elland Road.

A blank week all round last time out - although Brian kept £10 live on the Sports Personality of the Year, and correctly predicted Tommy Smith to be first to score in a 3-1 result at Loftus Road. Sadly, he had the R's down as the victors. Nothing for Andy either so it's now £136.36 for Brian, and a deficit of £52.50 for Andy.

If the snow comes as forecast then there's a fair chance our game at Leeds will be off and Clive can replace his match report with the next in his series on the great shopping centres of England.

If not we will head to Elland Road and I think we will pick up a draw against an in form side and the 1-1 scoreline is my selection. I'll have a couple of quid on Tommy Smithto open the scoring.

My last two horse selections have been well beaten but the winners of both races at 10/1 and 16/1 have both been the number one horse and eagle eyed readers will know that I mentioned the high returns on this number previously. So let's go for 2.50 on the number 1 horse in the scoop six races.

In the Football West Ham have the ideal opportunity to get three points at Blackburn whose new owners, aka the chicken pluckers, could find themselves playing Championship football next year after Big Sam's sacking. The 4/1 available on the Hammers is worth a punt.

Finally the PDC World Championship started on Thursday and Raymond Van Barneveld is the tip at 10/1. Phil Taylor is the man to beat again and Barney has the game to do it and unlike some other players isn't scared of Taylor.

Finally I was asked to foster a Chelsea fan last week. You will be delighted to know all six cans caught him on the back of his head.

For the weekend:

£7.50 Leeds 1 QPR 1 6/1

£5 Tommy Smith to score first 9/1

£2.50 singles on No 1 horse in all six Scoop Six races

£10 west ham to beat Blackburn 4/1

£5e/w Raymond Van Barneveld to win PDC World title 10/1 at 1/2 odds

Previously Advised:

£10 Dallas Cowboys to win Superbowl 12-1

£2 Lucky 15 and £2e/w acca

QPR to win Championship at 12/1

Huddersfield to win league 1 at 8/1

Rotherham to win League 2 at 12/1

York to win conference at 12/1

£15 Ashes series to be s draw 5/1

Christ, I really can’t buy a result at the moment. Another complete blank this week, another £45 down, I’m in the middle of a slump and no mistake. I’d call this a ‘typical QPR slump’, but so far our ‘slump’ was a couple of drawn games and a poor defeat at home to Watford, and we’re still four points clear, only lost once with a game in hand – if Carlsberg did slumps etc…

So this week, and if it goes ahead, we’re up at Leeds. Great stadium, great support from both sides, both teams around the top of the table and both in reasonable (in our case) to excellent (in Leeds case) form - dour goal-less draw anyone?

The market has this one down as a fairly tight match – Leeds are favourites at 6/4, whereas QPR are somewhere between 7/4 and 9/5 – not a lot in it. the draw is where I’m doing to put my money this week – and that would certainly not be a bad result for us at all. The draw is available at 12/5 with Victor Chandler. Those of you who think that QPR might sneak it, although you want to play it safe, QPR are evens on the draw-no bet market.

In terms of first goal scorer, Becchio is the best price available Leeds player, available at 11/2, whereas Taarabt is available at 15/2 for QPR, both with Stan James, who don’t forget do a goal-less draw no-bet refund on the first goal scorer markets. I’m going to shun the first goal scorer market this week (watch Taarabt score first this week now I haven’t bet on him…) and instead stick a couple of score casts down instead – 1-1 and 2-1 QPR, available at 6/1 and 10/1 with Bluesquare and Betfred respectively. Finally, I saw Leeds to win 4-2 available at 80/1 on Sporting Bet, a good 15 points higher than any other bookmaker. I haven’t bet against QPR all season, but at those odds I’m sticking £2 on the result – I’ve attempted to bet sensibly all season, maybe blind luck is the way forward for me?

The other match I’m going to focus on this week is the Chelsea vs Man Utd match on Sunday – primarily because Paddy Power are doing a fantastic offer where if the match ends in a draw, all losing first and last goal scorer markets, and all correct score markets are no bets – that’s a fantastic opportunity to speculate with this games quite frequently ending in a draw. So with that in mind, i'm going for 1-0 Chelsea @ 11/2, and Drogba to score first @ 9/2.

Finally, my accumulator - and i'm going for a four-fold, 3 fairly safe ones and a risky one - Celtic, Forest, Portsmouth and NOT Arsenal - £8 there is worth £105.60.

For the Weekend:

Leeds vs QPR - Draw - £10 @12/5 (Victor Chandler)

Leeds vs QPR correct score - 1-1 and 1-2 £5 on each @ 6/1 and 10/1 (BlueSquare and Betfred)

Leeds vs QPR correct score - 4-2 £2 @ 80/1 (SportingBet)

Chelsea vs Man Utd - correct score 1-0 - £5 @ 11/2 (Paddy Power)

Chelsea vs Man Utd - first goalscorer - Drogba - £5 @ 9/2 (Paddy Power)

Four fold accumulator - Celtic, Portsmouth, Forest, NOT Arsenal - £8 @ 14/1 (Betfair)
