Keeper heads to Bradford Monday, 18th Jul 2011 17:48 by Col Trialist keeper Mark Howard has joined Bradford City on trial with a view to winning a contract with the West Yorkshire side. Howard had played in both of Dale's friendly games so far and it had been considered that he had done enough to win a contract with Steve Eyre's men. But with news from Bradford on Monday saying that Howard had joined them for training and that he is in their starting line up against Guiseley on Tuesday, it would appear that Steve Eyre's hunt for a keeper will go on. Perhaps rather surprisingly, Bradford already have a first choice keeper in Joe McLaughlin, and their current search is for a back up goalkeeper behind McLaughlin. Matty Edwards was named as Dale's back up keeper on Saturday, and unless Steve Eyre can draft in another keeper in the next 24 hours, then Edwards will start against the team that let him go on a free transfer two years ago.
