Refwatch Preview: Brentford (a) Friday, 23rd Mar 2012 22:11 by TVOS Dale will meet a new referee on Saturday when Wiltshire-based Brendan Malone takes charge of their match at Brentford. Mr Malone is in his second season on the league list, but this will be his first game involving Dale. He spent the majority of last season officiating in League One and League Two, with Portsmouth v Crystal Palace being his only Championship fixture. Brendan was back at Fratton Park on Tuesday for Portsmouth’s home game with Birmingham, while one of his three other Championship games this season was Reading v Barnsley in August, which gave Keith Hill his first win as Tykes’ boss. In February Mr Malone refereed Swindon v Shrewsbury in League Two, which fans may recall was a game in which Shrews’ manager Graham Turner finished up in a slanging match with stewards who wouldn’t let him make his feelings known to the match officials. In total this season Brendan has refereed 27 games, showing 86 yellow cards and six red. Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
