Twaddle Gossip Monday, 2nd Jul 2012 17:17 by Col Defender Marc Twaddle has left the club on Monday and is looking for a return North of the Border. The club have today come to an agreement that frees up defender Marc Twaddle from his two year deal at Spotland and he has left the club as a result. It was something of a disastrous move for the former Falkirk defender, after being brought into the club with a view to playing as a central defender - a position it was clear was totally alien to him after 45 minutes in a pre-season friendly. He found himself out of the first team picture, and rumours of a disagreement with manager Steve Eyre before the Chesterfield home game helped restrict him to just three appearances all season long. Speaking to the Scottish press on MOnday, it seems like he has set his heart on a return to his native Scotland: “It hasn’t worked out the way. I had hoped and I’m desperate to get a move back up the road. “It was a risk leaving Scotland but if I hadn’t left Falkirk I would have spent last season wondering ‘what if’. And you can’t be like that in football. “I know there’s financial uncertainty in the Scottish game at the moment but I’m hoping I can get a move back up the road. “People might knock the Scottish game but I don’t go along with that. “I spent four years in the SPL and three years in the First Division with Falkirk and Partick Thistle and I really miss the pace of the game up there.” Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
