York v Swansea - Match Preview

YORK V SWANSEA - MATCH PREVIEW

With the Swans back to winning ways, Brian Flynn takes his team north to York on Saturday in search of more points. with the Swans lying in sixth place and York only six points behind in twelfth, it promises to be an interesting match.

The only change expected from the team that beat Darlington last weekend will be up front, after Daniel Nardiello's return to Old Trafford. Whether Flynn will opt for Nugent or Thomas remains to be seen. Tate and Iriekpen will partner each other in central defence once again before Tate sits out next weeks F.A. cup tie against Stevenage. Influential Spanish midfielder Roberto Martinez will not make the game, but is expected to figure in next weekends second round clash.

York boss Chris Brass could be without Mitch Ward after the midfielder suffered a reccurence of the thigh injury he picked up against his former club Barnsley. Big centre forward Jon Parkin will also be missing as he sits out the last of a four match ban.

With things as tight as they are at the top of the table, a win on Saturday could see the Swans move into fourth place level on points with second place hull and third place Doncaster, and with the hectic Christmas fixture list just round the corner, now would be the perfect time to put a string of good results together. With our "injury crisis" almost over and the imminent return of so many key players, a run of consecutive wins will cement our position as serious promotion candidates come the end of the season.
