Kristian is Swansea's current longest serving player and he is in his testimonial year. A revelation last season since Jackett moved him from central defence to central midfield. His battling qualities and good performances earned O'Leary a two year contract extension at the end of last season.
Voted as Player of the Year by the Evening Post readers, there would be few who would disagree with this. It was no co-incidence that O'Leary was injured through January & February, the exact time that the team went through a bad spell. O'Leary also has the honour of scoring in the last floodlit league game at the Vetch, in a 1-0 win over Oxford.
He did his part in helping the Swans gain promotion, through goal saving tackles and breaking up play, Kris also set up Forbes's goal away at Bury in the game that clinched promtion. This season O'Leary and the fans will be looking for the same impact on League 1. Hopefully Kristian will not find the step up too difficult.
