Depleted Swans Aim To Make Penney Drop

But that aside it was always going to happen with the Swans if you include the premier seats having around the 9,000 mark of season ticket holders. And of course it is a 100% home record that is being defended of played 1, won 1 following the single goal victory over Tranmere a fortnight ago at White Rock.

And with this being the first of a home sequence that is completed by Barnsley, Bristol City and Nottingham Forest there is every reason to remember that we could have a pretty good idea of our capabilities come the end of September.

Those capabilities will be tested this weekend as Kenny Jackett faces a game that sees so many of his first choice team missing. Andy Robinson serves the sixth game of a seven match ban picked up when he sneezed too loudly at the FAW hearing whilst both Kris O'Leary and Izzy Iriekpen are missing having seen red last week in the 3-1 defeat at Huddersfield. Add to that the loss through injury of Garry Monk and heavy rumours that the Swans will be without Lee Trundle and you have a major selection headache. And just for good measure you can take the name of Adrian Forbes off the list as well as he misses through injury so it's time to pick through what is left.

The arrival of the on loan Christian Edwards back to Swansea means he is likely to slot into a back four that will include Kev, Tatey and Ricketts lining up with Chris in front of Willy. In midfield, Roberto, OTJ and Britton would be the logical choices to get the nod with Goodfellow, Bayo and one other making up the forward line. If Trundle is proved to be a non starter then you would suggest Connor but Pritch and Macca are lurking there in the background as well.

One thing that these injuries and suspensions mean is that it won't be that easy for former Swan Dave Penney to predict our line up. Penney though has his own problems with Jan Budtz, Adriano Rigoglioso, Jermaine McSporran and Tonny Nielsen all missing through injury. owever, Uros Predic could start having joined on a three month loan deal this week.

Make no mistake the visit of Doncaster Rovers is not going to be an easy fixture. They missed the play offs by a solitary point last season and despite not having the best of starts they are expected to be up there jostling come next May. But if we are to succeed then we have to look to win home games and we have started that habit - lets continue it.
