Lee Trundle has spoken of his favourite moments at Swansea following his transfer to Bristol City in a club record deal.
Trundle spent four years at Swansea and shared some magic moments with the fans and will be sorely missed but speaking to the Wales on Sunday, Trundle has highlighted the four following moments as his best memories
FA CUP RUN 2004: That's the first one that comes to my head because that's when the buzz around Swansea really got going and people started to notice the change at the club. The highlight was obviously that game against Preston - to score the leveller and set up a win in front of a packed Vetch will always stay with me.
PROMOTION TO LEAGUE ONE: We knew we had to get out of that division but we'd left it late. We needed a win at Bury on the final day after going through all the emotion of the last day at the Vetch but we pulled it off. We had 7,000 fans there that day and to deliver what they wanted was unbelievable - even if Willy Gueret ended up arrested!
FOOTBALL LEAGUE TROPHY FINAL: Forget what happened afterwards, the whole day was special and the goal I scored is still one of my favourites
MY FIRST YEAR AT THE LIBERTY: Okay, it ended in tears against Barnsley - the only real low point of my Swans career - but that season we produced some fantastic performances at our new home and launched a new chapter for the club. We came so close but it wasn't to be. |
