Supporters’ organisation The Saints Trust is calling on Southampton supporters everywhere to forget the past and get fully behind the club in its darkest hour.

The appointment of administrators this week to Southampton Leisure Holdings plc, the holding company that owns Southampton Football Club, has placed a serious question mark over the very future of the club.

And Nick Illingsworth, of The Saints Trust, is urging Southampton fans to do everything they can to show their support – starting with attending tomorrow’s vital Championship clash at St Mary’s with fellow strugglers Charlton.

Nick Illingsworth said today: “This is the club’s darkest hour since its formation in 1885, and everyone who holds Saints dear to their heart can and must do something to help.

“Now is not the time to blame individuals and agonise over why we’ve got to where we are – now is the time to show the world how much we love the club.

“Fans should realise they CAN make a difference to the future of Southampton FC by supporting the team in every way possible, to show potential investors that the club is an attractive proposition.

“There’s also the matter of the precious three points up for grabs against Charlton tomorrow at St Mary’s – and I’d urge Saints fans everywhere to do whatever they can to be there and show their support.”

Tickets are available for tomorrow’s vital six-pointer at reduced prices of £15 for adults and just £5 for children.
