Leon Britton is determined to end pal Glen Johnson's hopes of a second FA Cup winners medal

The Swansea City midfielder will return to action next weekend after being suspended for yesterday's 2-0 win over Reading at the Liberty.

And he will lock horns with one of his mates from his youth days at West Ham in Glen Johnson who picked up a winners medal last season when Portsmouth triumphed in the FA Cup final at Wembley.

Britton told News of the World "I've known Glen for a few years and we've kept in touch since we left Upton Park.

"When I go back to London I try to meet up with him.  But for now I'm looking to end his interest in the FA Cup.   He won it last season but I'll be doing our best to make sure he doesn't win it again this year."

Britton could have come face to face with another former West Ham team mate but Jermaine Defoe has returned to Spurs - a move that pleases Britton "Jermain leaving is a bonus for us because he's a natural goal scorer" he added
