Saints entertain Hearts at St Mary's on Saturday

Saints welcome Scottish side Hearts, or to give them their full title Heart Of Midlothian to St Mary's, this is the second time that the Jambo's as they are known have played in Southampton, they were visitors to the Dell on Saturday May 8th 1976, exactly one week after the greatest day in Saints history.

Scottish football is often and probably quite rightly so seen as a two horse race, so its difficult to compare the rest of the sides in the SPL against English clubs, with the suggestion that most would struggle to get promoted from the Championship, so Saturday's game will perhaps give Saints a good workout, but not at the level that Ajax provided.

Sadly the crowd will be far less than for the Ajax fixture, but not just because of the quality factor, with Hampshire in the Friends Provident Trophy final at Lords, many Saints supporters will be either up at Cricket's HQ themselves or watching it on the TV.

With this in mind Saints will only be opening the Itchen and Kingsland stands for the game, with a combined capacity of approximately 20'000 this should be more than enough.

Tickets are available at £10 for adults, £5 for seniors and Young Adults and a bargain £1 for kids, so all in all it should be good value for money plus a chance to see Saints new signing Dan Harding and maybe a glimpse of Stern John
