Sousa Reveals Talks With Saints Duo

Paulo Sousa says that the club could sign both Marek Saganowski and Grzegorz Rasiak from Southampton

The Polish duo are both looking to leave St Mary's this summer following Southampton's relegation to League One, and Sousa admits that he's held talks with the duo.

Saganowski scored twice against the Swans last season in the 2-2 draw on the South Coast, while Rasiak spent the season on loan at Watford, scoring 8 in just 12 starts.

It's likely that a deal for both would set the club back almost £1m, but thanks to the money earned from the Roberto Martinez and Jason Scotland sales, the price should be easily affordable.

Meanwhile, Sousa hasn't yet closed the door on Pablo Counago joining, the Spaniard rejected terms on a deal at the Liberty last weekend, but a move still could be on.

"Everything can be possible in football life, it can change very easily," the Swans boss told the BBC.

"We've talked with them (Saganowski and Rasiak) and we've talked also with other players.

"It can be both, it can be only one, it can be others.

"We have all of August to find the right player.

"The sooner they come the easier it is for him to adapt to our ideas and identity and fight for a position like the others.

"The most important thing to have is desire and hunger from the player and ambition to play in our squad, because it's not easy to play in our squad.

"We are trying to get a good deal for the club, for myself, for the player and for the club he represents."
