Gorka Pintado has been handed a one match ban by the FAW following his red card against Scunthorpe at the Liberty

Pintado has already sat out a one game ban as one of three Swansea players dismissed during the Carling Cup defeat but following the FAW discussion, Pintado was charged by the FAW with improper conduct after the referee reported him for failing to leave the field of play quick enough following his protests and throwing a water bottle on the ground in front of the linesman.

Garry Monk and Angel Rangel were also dismissed in a stormy affair at the Liberty Stadium as the Swans lost 2-1 after extra time.

A Swansea City spokesperson said: "We put forward a very good case and the FAW gave us a fair hearing.

"Our case must have been very strong because charges relating to improper conduct normally carry a two-match ban and a hefty fine.''

Pintado will miss the home game against QPR on October 3.
