Mills to Leeds talk hots up as player issues
Mills to Leeds talk hots up as player issues "come and get me"plea!
Tuesday, 14th May 2013 08:24

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Bolton defender Matt Mills has issued a "come and get me" plea to Brian McDermott. The defender, who flourished under McDermott at Reading is available at a knock-down £1m although the YEP report his "five figure" weekly wage could be a stumbling block.

Apparently the usual "sources close to the player" line is being trotted out and word is Mills would relish a move to West Yorkshire.

The defender, who actually was signed by current Liverpool chief Brendan Rogers in his Reading days, has sort of lost his way at the moment from the days of him bring a mainstay in the Royals defence that persuaded Leicester to throw a whopping £4.5m.

Again, his career appears to have stalled, this time at Bolton where he currently appears to be third-choice centre-half and not necessarily part of their plans.

However the money he is on would prove to be an issue and it would be likely Brian McDermott would have to sell to free up some capital on the wage bill, my hunch would be that Jason Pearce would be made available.
