Rotherham v Blackpool Preview
Friday, 28th Nov 2014 08:28 by Editor

So after Black Friday will be it Grey Saturday - another day towards what seems an inevitable relegation? Or has Lee Clark brought in enough players to keep us going until January and give us a fighting chance in the second half of the season. The return of Kevin Foley and the arrival of Stuart O'Keefe gives the manager a couple more options ahead of Saturday's trip to Rotherham.

Many are predicting what it will take for the Seasiders to go in to 2015 with a chance of survival. The general consensus is that between now and the end of the year that Clark's side need to be looking at around the 20 point mark. Well during the six games until the end of the year, as is often a quirk of the fixture list, we play the Millers twice and there potentially is six points. Whilst Rotherham started well, they have lost their way a bit of late and whilst there's a sizeable gap between the two clubs, they'll be more concerned that they've dropped in to the relegation places than of Blackpool catching them anytime soon.

Against Bolton there is no doubt that Clark had his side playing better but probably still short of where we need to be. We never looked like dominating the game and when we did score there was an inevitability that we would concede. There still doesn't seem to be a resilience and confidence about the side that will lead to us going on that much needed unbeaten run however with another 7 days together under their belts it's hoped this team will start to gel. With Brian Lenihan back at Hull, Foley will come in for the suspended McMahon meaning another change in a defence which has had little chance to gain any consistency.

Quite where O'Keefe could fit in remains to be seen with the likelihood of few changes elsewhere as Clark looks to build on last weekend's draw. A win would certainly be welcome, a draw probably isn't enough and a loss and some will say we've been relegated before November ends.
