Demetriou Attracts Australian Interest

Swans youngster James Demetriou is attracting interest from A-League sides Sydney FC and Adelaide United according to reports.

There was talk last season that Demetriou would return home after the Sydney Olympic junior did not extend his contract with former club Nottingham Forest.

However, right before the transfer deadline, a two-year contract materialised with the Swans.

He has recently been fined for his betting activity which could spark interest I guess in him returning back to Australia although nothing has been mentioned locally about a potential move.

“Right now, I have another season left on my contract at Swansea. I am blind to a lot of the talk that goes on between clubs and my agent,” Demetriou said.

“I think that helps with keeping my mind on where it needs to be. The A-League has proved to be a dominant league in Asian football, so any move back home would need to be for the right reasons."
