Buzsaky out for rest of the season
Buzsaky out for rest of the season

QPR have been dealt a savage blow with the news that midfielder Akos Buzsaky has torn knee ligaments and will not play again this season.

Buzsaky left the field midway through the first half at Old Trafford on Tuesday night and was replaced by Patrick Agyemang but there was no hint at the time that the injury was this serious. In fact many QPR fans at the game didn't even realise he had limped off the pitch after catching his studs in the ground and twisting his knee.

The news is a terrible blow to QPR - Buzsaky is one of the club's most influential and watchable players. The Hungarian international midfielder only returned to action recently after picking up an ankle injury on duty for his country in March which, after several failed comebacks at QPR, required surgery over the summer.

Manager Gareth Ainsworth told the club's official website: "I am devastated we have lost him but all we can do is offer him support and wish him all the best with his recovery."

Club physio Paul Hunter said: "His studs got caught in the turf and his right knee twisted and, regrettably, he now faces a long period out."

Buzsaky has made seven starts and six substitute appearances so far this season, scoring one against Forest and getting one assist. Of course everybody here at LoftforWords wishes Akos all the best and a very speedy recovery.
