Crystal Palace v QPR Betting Preview
Crystal Palace v QPR Betting Preview
Friday, 28th Nov 2008 22:53

Brian and Clive look forward to the weekend of sporting action and search for value in the markets ahead of QPR's trip to Selhurst Park.

Winners and non-runners on the challenger account last week meant a £55 profit. Brian Power will have been more disappointed than most when Dexter Blackstock inexplicably headed his hat trick chance wide on Tuesday night – he had Rangers to win 3-1. He also got two places out of three in an each way treble – close but no coconut and he is now down £323.50 compared to the Challenger’s £116.89 overdraft.

This Sunday promises to be a good one for Football fans, You have a couple of high profile Premiership games including the Manchester Derby and the SW6 brigade against Arsenal, A couple of 2nd round FA cup games including Histon v Leeds (watch the clichés on ITV) and the FA Cup 3rd draw(I have a feeling we will draw Spurs). And for those who are not keen on football and want some mindless violence we have Swansea V Cardiff on Sky. This forms the first part of my bet with a double on this and the Manc derby.

We travel to Saff London and Mr Jordon with his hair and bright orange glow will greet you. At least this year Clinton won’t be on hand to score against us and I can see us getting a draw so will have a couple of quid on the 2-2 correct score and Dexter to continue where he left off the other night. I will also have a small wager on our new signing Gary Borrowdale to get the first goal against his former club. Well it happens against us all the time

At Newbury on Saturday we have the Hennessey Gold Cup and we have not had an Irish trained winner for a few years and we will look to the Tony Martin trained Patsy Hall to change this and we will have a wager on him.

For the weekend:
Palace 2 QPR 2 Correct Score £5 12/1
Dexter Blackstock to score 1st £10 7/1
Gary Borrowdale to score 1st £2.50 50/1

£10 doubleSkybet

The Challenger
Well I may have my Grandad’s knack for bets and predictions, but I’m not soft enough to let our official website get away with that trick last week. Heidar Helguson I ask you. First goal? He wasn’t even there. First and fastest my arse. Anyway that means a non-runner thanks very much and a tenner back to go with the £35 collected on the Villa v Man Utd draw and the £32 on the Man City win and that’s a £55 profit for the week which isn’t too shabby at all. I should have double the Villa and City games up of course, but hindsight is a wonderful thing and we are now heading in the right direction. You won’t catch me backing QPR to win again for sometime though after the debacle last week.

For the weekend:
£10 on Palace to win 1-0 at 6/1
£5 on Damion Stewart for first and last goal both at 28/1
£10 on Alfreton to draw at Scunthorpe 7/2
£5 on Eastwood to beat Wycombe at 6/1
£5 on Grays to beat Carlisle at 11/4
£10 acca Millwall 8/15, Leicester 4/9, Kidderminster 1/3, Bradford 11/8, Chesterfield 2/5
